DK's for everybody! ...or nobody

Even with the free level 90 boost, that change is rather silly, from a gameplay perspective.

But hey, I'm not the guy in charge of game development. Hopefully trials get permanent Death Knights, in that case.

Welcome to the 59 bracket!

Now what would be -really- interesting would be if, since the level 90 boost is available, they also made DKs start off at 90.

No. Please no. Just...please...my random Draenor dungeon ques are bad enough as it is...

Fun or not, I don't think its worth all the trouble to level through the quests just for 1 or 2 bg/arenas. Unless us trials do manage to be able to relog onto them.

If they remove the level 55 requirement that means we should have unlimited access to them. The only thing currently stopping us from being able to log back on is us not meeting the level requirement

Rather than unlimited access, it would mean one of two things. Either all F2P can create DKs, regardless of whether they have been able to before. Or no F2P, including the ones that could create them previously, will be able to. For the latter Blizz will have to put in some effort to prevent F2P from making DKs, which they are most likely to be too lazy to do.

The level 20 limit will still be in place, so F2P will not be able to log back in to a DK once it has been logged out of. It will be expansion locked.

On a slightly unrelated note to the above, this is one less (stupid) reason for not wanting to pay $5 for a full linked account.

If F2P DKs are stopped, it might be a good idea to make a few and not log in to them, as well as doing any DK achievements you've been putting off this week. Just in case.

You can queue for BGs as a fresh DK, but I'm pretty sure you can't join the BG, even if it did pop. You're in the completely dead 50-59 XP off bracket, so good luck getting it to pop in the first place. You can't join dungeons or be summoned out. If you do boost a DK to 90, it will most likely be ported out of the start zone, and be in Org/SW.

Hm, allowing starter editions to roll DK's might not be the dumbest move, actually.

Keep in mind that people do use the starter edtition just to check if they like the game, not everyone is as freakish as we are. That said, being able to taste that mega cool, pwning super dark Death Knight of death could hook new players.

Level range 55-60, and if you want to pwn more buy the game.

This reinforces a point that I've been grumbling about for a long time: that the Starter Edition of WoW doesn't do all that much to give a new player a taste of what WoW is really like.

20 gives you a taste of the game. You have dungeons, BGs, mounts, quests. No raids, but you get the general idea by playing to 20. From there, the idea is you want more. Which you guys seem to. You just don't want to pay for it. Blizz knew there would be people that would only play the free version, but that's not what they intended by making F2P. It's just a way to advertise the game.

While I would enjoy doing all the 60 raids, at 60, and grinding out legendaries, and class sets, Blizz have no intention of making that much of the game F2P. If the F2P version was that involved, it wouldn't translate into more sales. All it would do is make more people play the F2P version.

Hell no!
If they raise the cap to 60 it would basically ruin low level pvp forever, effectively eliminating the reason why I'm f2p to begin with. Also, If I want to grind out stuff for the sake of grinding and "ma collection!!!" I would buy whatever Blizzard throws at me.
But I don't, the current cap is what I consider the healthiest playstyle for me (you get your twink gear, play, have fun, without the constant grind and various timesinks).
The free trials always remind me how much time I would spend playing the game with all the collectible nice stuff around. Yes, I'm weak.

Still, a level 20 cap might give you an impression of the game, but I doubt anyone gets hooked by three dungeons and 2 questing areas. What got me into the game years ago was the experience to 60 (and then 70, 80) with the people I met along the way, people from my realm. Constantly meeting familiar faces you enjoyed playing with is an amazing thing only MMO's can offer (to this extend), so it seems weird to me that Blizzard doesn't tap into that when it comes to trial editions. If I were in charge I would introduce 30 day trials with a level 60 cap instead (and hope people form bonds that they don't want to lose when the trial runs out).

No, I'm pretty sure it's because the level limit is 20 not that you don't have a 55.

It probably won't work, I just hope they don't fix it so F2Ps can't play on DKs.

Mhmm.... creating some dks on your accounts would be great... but what you should do is not log on em.... so... when will these changes be applied on on retail?
