Diablo Immortal allows you to group up with players on your server. you can also join a clan, similar to a guild. Diablo Immortal does not currently have cross-server gameplay for Co-OP/Campaign gameplay, however, When it comes to PvP, cross-server play will be enabled.
There currently is no word on server transfer feature.

Clans in diablo are like guilds. There are clan achievements.

There is a progression system with clans. A clan can join the shadow faction, to compete against other shadow clans in a weekly pvp event, to ascend to immortal clan status. Only 3 clans at a time can be Immortal per server.

I'm still very new to this game, just level 10. but I think a clan with xpoff members would lead to some fun gameplay.

Yes. It has grouping. There’s servers, and you see people in open world, mostly who are in the same quests as you.
The clan feature opens at level 30, and shadow clans(end game oriented) at 43. Supposedly there are 8-man raid/dungeons, and 8v8 battleground system, and the ability to group with up to 8 people for targeted end game world content.
there’s lots of cool systems, it feels like a real Diablo game. There’s server leaderboards that unlock currency rewards for all players on the server, and one clan can become the “immortal” clan on the server with 2 others. So it’s a mini mmo too. World chat, zone chat, etc, all present in the mobile game

the pc version works fine also

immense. My tablet was losing battery even plugged in.

I should probably clarify that I'm using a not-brand-new ipad lol. But still, it handled other pretty intensive games just fine.

Regardless of old/new tech, that's disappointing. Most of my mobile gaming happens at work, on my phone. Big turn off for me if it drains the battery life quickly :/
