destro lock the silent MM in the bracket

been seeing some 3 destro 1-2 healer mini mades. seeing them drop MMs with ease, able to make a aim shot a longer cast with corruption, option into a fear, or flat out beat aim shot with a incinerate into a chaos bolt super fast due to backdraft while hunter is losing HP way faster from lock dots/pet than the lock with hunter pet on it

if the hunter does not have silencing shot or feign death it s a free kill for the lock. exhil and shell will not save you
 
if you die to a destro lock as a hunter, you're a fucking idiot. feign death, turtle, silence, knockback, trap. don't even get me started on nightelf melds or frag grenades. honestly, if you do die, you're probably totally out of position, don't have enemy casting frames, or are generally bad at executing the 5 to 7 stops you have depending on the gear and race.
 
Ya, can't say I've had a whole lot of trouble with destro as a hunter. The succubus can be a pain to deal with, especially if you don't play trinket like myself. They are usually one of the 1st targets to burn down though because of their burst potential.

Not even close to comparable to an mm hunter. Heavily telegraphed damage window - ez counter play. Zero defensives, zero mobility. Only braindead pugs will let a lock freecast. Versus twink comps you are never going to be able to apply presure.
 
I like demo or aff more than the style of gameplay that destro offers. Demo has alot of control tools, and aff has good spread pressure. Destro lock is too similar to playing an mm hunter with 1/4 of its utility = gimped.
 
Destro is VERY good. In fact, EU placed a destro lock limit of 1 (same as hunter) in their wargames. Its burst potential is ridiculous, and it is quite overwhelming in an organized 10v10- especially if there are multiple. It simply will get casts casts off, and it can only be delayed. However, in pugs, it's not quite of the same carry potential as a hunter; destro simply isn't as durable and can't win objectives on its own.

Nonetheless, in any pug where a team fight matters, destro will absolutely annhilate any comp with melee or overextending players- and definitely out perform an MM in that regard. In terms of its matchup against hunter, it has a much better chance against surv than MM; in fact, I would say MM counters destro a bit, but there is potential for a destro to win a 1v1 against surv.

Overall, destro is definitely a top tier threat that will absolutely abuse any team presence given to them- and if players are looking for a broken class that isn't hunter or priest, this is probably their best bet.
 
Just another thread for bashing hunters and comparing classes in an unrealistic 1v1 scenario, disregarding the different roles these specs might have. Not surprised tbh.

Totally with you here. I prefer Destro to the other specs, but it is clunky & has very obvious & easily countered damage windows.
I find that you spend half your time juking for kicks to set up the monster crits, thereafter being very mediocre till your CD's come back up.
Still though, the satistfaction of nuking people with a 3.4k soul fire to the face is... heheha... substantial.
 
Just be thankful that 99% of the people playing hunter in the 20s are bumble fuck terrible. That at least keeps it somewhat in-line.

I kept writing and deleting a reply very, very close to this lol.

It's a lot like the phenomenon in other games where a character with a very high winrate but low playrate will suddenly plummet in winrate as newer players pick it up expecting easy wins.

Can you imagine what playing against the average hunter would feel like if they were also good players?
