i've never had trouble farming those back in the days for fish feast. i spent half an hour and got almost nothing. Did i miss something?

No, not true. Put on the Day-Old Darkmoon Doughnut for +200 fishing. Both F2P, GF'd or not, will get more fish/hour compared to hunting for wreckages because of Bloated Threshers (which on average drops 7 Daggermaw per pull).

Keep in mind that food buffs no longer work in battlegrounds.

As much as I like the balancing/leveling changes made to pvp, I miss having relevant things to do while waiting in queue.

This is not entirely true. Any buffs applied before entering a BG will still work after entering.

The doughnut may work for grandfathered fishing but it's not great for those of us with just 100.

Enticed by the promise of bloated threshers (good way to sock away some gold), I decided to try it out. I bought 4 doughnuts and with my standard issue +5 fishing pole and my 100 skill cap, I fished for 40 minutes. In that time I acquired 33 daggermaw and 92 pieces of trash. It's worth noting that in 40 minutes and 125 casts, I never caught a bloated thresher.

I then decided to farm pools until I got 33 Daggermaw doing that, to see how long it took. I managed 35 daggermaw in 20 minutes, despite pretty constant competition because apparently everyone and their dog wants that new mount.

How do u get the +5 fishing line? I'm only aware of the +1 from Stendal's Pond. Is there a +5 that is obtainable for 20's?

Those threshers must increase their drop rate with fishing level. Last time the DMF was around I caught like 4 in about 30 mins with 525 fishing. Or maybe there is a minimum level cut off to fish them up?

+5 fishing line is from the fishing tourney, but it actually req 150 fishing skill to use. @Crystalpall

As stated, get doughnut and you will get more fish just by sitting.

700 fishing skill here,100% Fish drop rate on every cast,got around 7 Bloated tresher and fished out 200 in 1 hour
