  • I liked an idea by Kochi that originated in Lok'tar Mmmgar (Victory or Food) a lot and we made up some rules and stuff.

Next Sunday we're going to get people together for a game focussing only on CC to score points! :)

    GNOMEBALL and IRON GNOME

    Gnomeball - Association Rules:

    Players:
    Two Horde teams, preferably Tauren:
    3-5 Elemental Shamans per team
1 Holy Priest using Dominate Mind and Chastise per team (Optional Challenge Mode)

    Equipment:
    1 Non-spherical Ball - A Gnome Warrior
(drugged - the Gnomeball only moves to the kick-off point after a goal)
Orgrimmar and Undercity tabards to separate teams.

    Officials:
1 Gnomekeeper - An Alliance Discipline Priest to shield and heal the Gnomeball, peferably also a Gnome
    2 Referees, preferably Gnomes
(TAG* objects against Gnome referees but the GLIB** insists.)

    Objective:
Teams score by moving the Gnomeball into the other team's goal, using Thunderstorm
(Gratuitous use of Warstomp on the Gnomeball is encouraged.)
(Optional: Dominate Mind / Interrupts on the other team's Dominate Mind)

    Duration:
Two halftimes of 10 minutes each.

    Pitch:
    The Ring of Trials:

    Outcome:
The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, the teams will obliterate each other in a death-match, the four Gnomes will kill any survivors and the Gnomes will win.

    Game variation - Iron Gnome

In this variation the Gnomes may participate actively and there's no class restriction for the Horde.

    Players:
Two Horde teams, 3-5 per team
    1 Gnome Warrior per team
1 Gnomekeeper (Alliance healer) per Gnome

    Objective:

The Gnome Warriors start at the pillars on opposite sides, they run in a circle around all four pillars and try to catch (charge) the other Gnome.

    Aaaaaand it's a GNOMERUN!

Teams score when their Gnome succeeds in catching the other Gnome, reaching Gnomeplate, so to speak.

Teamates can run ahead of their own Gnome and let him charge them to speed him up, or run over and slow down the enemy Gnome.

Shamans can TS to help or hinder, other classes use their CC.

    Duration:
Two halftimes of 10 minutes each.

    Pitch:
The Ring of Trials (or Blade's Edge Arena)

    TIme:

CRZ collecting begins after STV fishing tournament at:

Estimating less than thirty minutes for grouping and then about an hour of playing for now.

    Feel the cheesy puns.

    I'm glad. :)

Oh, toons on AP only need to be level 20, but not geared, forgot that. Will edit it in now. ^^

Seems like a good idea, but its a pretty specific itinerary.

I mean you have to find 10 tauren shamans, two gnome warriors, and two gnome priests.

I have a level 20 gnome warrior on another server who could participate. As well as a orc shaman on AP if the warrior isnt needed.

I'd put locks in there with priests psyfiend for some double point goals or something.. Like if they go in the goal while feared you get 2 points since you didn't control it really. I'd also say mages could work for poly and to stop goals. Monks maybe better then gnome wars since they actually have a move that makes them roll so it'd be more realistic but wouldn't be as small like a ball. Just some things I thought of so it's not just eles (although there are enough rerolls around ;) ) or 1 class but this sounds... interesting lol

Well the "preferably Tauren" is just in for humorous value. Gnome stomping, y'know. The only fixed race are the Gnomeball and Gnome Warriors so we stay at least a little close to the original topic. The rest will just have to be other races and other classes too for the last event. :)

There just aren't enough Tauren Shamans around for this. ^^

This is absolutely fabulous. I was wondering last week about how far something could be Thunderstormed and this has got me thinking about it even more, except with gnomes. Launching gnomes off of the cliffs in Hillsbrad comes to mind. Maybe some sort of Gnomeball punt, pass, and kick (or some such) contest. Maybe some sort of distance element? Accuracy? Using a Gnomer 'chute? I dunno just fun thoughts. :) Maybe someone with a more extensive knowledge of use items available to us could come up with something awesome.

If you're planning to start this wonderfully-fun gnomeball event, I strongly recommend doing this event before 5.4 goes live, as Thunderstorm and similar abilities will have a diminishing return category:

    Rygarius of Blizzard said:
Area knockback effects now all share a diminishing return category. After a player has been moved by one of these spells, the player will be immune for 10 seconds. This new category applies to: Fellash, Gorefiend’s Grasp, Glyph of Explosive Trap, Thunderstorm, Typhoon, Ursol’s Vortex, and Whiplash.
From 5.4 PTR Patch Notes - July 24 - World of Warcraft.
