found a thread in the BG forums here is an interesting blue post about increasing the penaties for AFKing and botting.



"We’re in the process of stepping up our detection and tracking to log and action players that are botting, or habitually AFKing in the Battlegrounds. We’ll be taking aggressive action and removing earned items, Honor Points, and ultimately suspending or even banning accounts of those that are found to be botting or habitually AFKing. It’s a sophisticated level of monitoring we’re undertaking. No one actively playing in the Battlegrounds normally should be concerned that they’ll be actioned."
 
Aha, now guys, could you detect and ban for GY farming too? Wait, is it sophisticated enough for this too, right?

Farming HK's is a completely different story.
 
theyre gonna penalize people for /afking out when theyre losing?

Honor will probably be awarded at the end of the BG. If you leave before it finishes you don't get any honor or credit for any HK's, that would make sense.
 
It's pretty obvious that by AFKing they are refering to people who are not using a bot program but are sitting AFK in a bg. Even if they did penalize you for /afking, people would just right click icon and leave battleground.
 
"AFK ing Priority 101":



AFK ing for a bathroom break = WTF

AFK ing for real life = OK

AFK ing cause you are the reason your team is losing = good

AFK ing cause your team sucks = better

AFK ing for BG stats = best

AFK ing for Chicken = da "bestest"



If all else fails opt for taking the "Iragenquit 325" course later this spring.
 
So now, join BG play 10 minutes, AFK for the rest of the time = Victory!
 
to solve this major problem they will make 2 hour queue for everyone that will teach these pvpers that we made the game for .......end game raids.
 
actually it's not clear what they are talking about. I think a system where you don't get your honor, rep, or HK's until the end of the BG would be interesting. Can't think of a reason why this wouldn't be good.
 
It would be moderately funny if they meant they were going to take action upon players who often /AFK out of battlegrounds, as Waw Tawent would eventually lose its GM and half its A-Team to being banned lol.
