Hi everyone, I've been writing all this out for my own research & interest anyway, so I thought I'd share what I've come up with.

Putting all the gear into different sets and comparing it at all once instead of trying to break it down piece by piece helps me put things into perspective, so maybe it'll do the same for anyone considering a warrior at 29.

    Quick notes about gear selection:
For some sets, like the "stamina" set, you'll notice it's theoretically possible to obtain more stamina than what's shown here. Most of these sets are intended for referencing as a scale for practical use, and sacrificing 4-5 good stats for the sake of 1 point of stam just isn't viable in most cases. There are one or two exceptions to the rule, such as with glass cannon builds with premade support.

For the sake of theorycrafting, feel free to swap out any of the pieces here or adjust the values in your head. Some of the pieces below are Horde-exclusive, and bear in mind that undead cannot obtain Vile Protector.

Also, since most librams aren't calculated in the gear planner, I'll be factoring it into the total HP or stat values when relevant.

These sets will also assume you have access to gear from battlegrounds for full BiS.

    Conventional Balanced Arms Build:

    • A popular 2h Arms gear set typically favoring balanced stats with high-value pieces. You may consider swapping out Bear helm for Slayer's Skullcap.
    • Stamina enchant to bracers, stats to chest, agility to gloves
    • Crusader on weapon
    • 17 into Arms for Impale, 3 into Fury
    • +200 HP from librams
    HP: 2,008
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 33.7%
    DPS: 58.02

    Conventional Balanced Fury Build:

    • Same armor as above, but 20 into Fury and dual-wielding
    • Crusader on MH, Agility on OH
    HP: 1,958
    DPS: 50.07 MH, 49.22 OH

    Stam-Heavy 2H Arms Set

    • Same spec as the Arms set above, still fairly balanced with a preference for high-value pieces but with a focus on increased survivability for solo-queues or potentially 1v1s
    • 100 HP to chest, Stamina to bracers, Agility to gloves
    • +200 HP from librams
    HP: 2,278
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 31.5%
    DPS: 53.73

Glass Cannon Full Strength 2H Arms Set

    • Same spec as the above Arms sets, but a stat priority of Strength > Agility = Stamina
    • Stats to chest, Strength to bracers and gloves, Stamina to boots
    • +16 Strength from librams
    HP: 1,315
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 33.4%
    DPS: 64.73 (factoring librams)

Glass Cannon Full Strength DW Fury Set

    • Same gear above, but dual-wield with 20 points in Fury
    • Stats to chest, Strength to bracers, gloves and weapon, Stamina to boots
    • +16 Strength from librams
    HP: 1,265
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 33.4%
    DPS: 58.93 MH, 54.94 OH

Glass Cannon Agility & Strength 2H Arms Set

    • A stat priority of Agility > Strength > Stamina
    • Strength to bracers, Agility to gloves and boots, Stats to chest
    • +16 Agility from librams
    • You could do Thunderbrow again here for a higher stat total, but since the build is focusing on AGI over STR I tried Tiger rings

    HP: 1,028
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 30.7%
    DPS: 56.73
    Crit: 12.1% after librams

Glass Cannon Agility & Strength DW Fury Set

    • Same armor as above, but dual-wield with 20 points in Fury
    • Crusader to MH, Agility on OH
    • +16 Agility from librams
    HP: 978
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 30.7%
    DPS: 47.79 MH, 46.82 OH
    Crit: 15.2% after librams

    Full Stamina Prot FC Set

    • The weapon enchant is Lifestealing in this example, since it has more healing per minute than Crusader and your primary objective with this set is to stay alive longer. You might also consider 15 Agility for the added armor class and dodge.
    • This spec has 5 in Shield Spec, but 0 points in Anticipation or Toughness (another spec tries that below).
    • You may also consider swapping out the Looming Gavel for the WSG sword for the extra damage if you want to give up 3 Stam and 3 Agility, or the Bear pants for Monkey pants.
    • The boots do not have run speed on them. You may want a pair of AB boots for crossing the map and getting into a comfortable defensive position before using Caverndeep Trudgers.

    HP: 2,558
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 41.6%
    DPS: 39.86

Full Armor & Dodge Prot FC Set

    • The stat priority for this build is armor > defense > agility = stamina
    • This is full prot spec again, this time with 5 in Anticipation, Shield Spec & Toughness
    • The weapon enchant is 15 Agility for the added dodge and armor class
    • You are doing virtually no damage with this build and you are going to die extremely fast to casters, but it was a cool idea and I wanted to see what it looked like
    • You may consider a 1% dodge enchant to cloak

    HP: 1,958
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 53.7%
    DPS: 39.39

    Strength-Heavy Prot Set (Block???)

    • 16 extra Strength from 2 Librams
    • A stat priority of Strength >= Stamina > Agility
    • The weapon enchant is Crusader, and the gloves & bracers have Strength enchants
    • Full Prot with 5 Anticipation and Shield Spec, but no Toughness

    HP: 1,698
    Physical Damage Mitigation: 43.5%
    DPS: 54.36 (after factoring librams)

Your builds are pretty well thought out, although any 'glass cannon' types are basically pointless. Here are the three main outfits I think you should work with: 2H DW Tank

Have you played warrior in the 29s or are you just getting hyped?

I am in no way, shape or form endorsing one build over another, haha. These are merely templates to help someone position their gear planning on a spectrum of all the possible build ideas. I do, however, think there's a viable use for almost any set you can think of, however niche.

    I've played warrior at 19, 29, 49 and 60.

Could you guys go abit into depth why you've chosen a slow OH?
I recall warriors using daggers as OH for rage stacking back in vanilla/tbc, including myself.
Typical OH's being Claw, WSG Rep reward and Vendetta.

I'm not precisely sure what you mean by "rage stacking," but to be clear, rage scales with damage dealt, so the primary benefit of a faster weapon isn't more rage generation, but rather smaller increments of rage generation at a more consistent pace.

That's good a lot of the time, particularly in PvE, since the incremental gains might bump your rage up just enough to dump it on an ability sooner. But it's also not good sometimes, because crits are multiplicative and scale rage up proportionally. One crit from a harder-hitting weapon could be worth the rage generation of 3 or 4 swings from a fast weapon, and if you're jousting, you may not get those extra swings in to make up the difference.

All that said, the differences will be negligible enough that I think stats are the more valuable consideration. That's just my 2 cents.

Sick! This is exactly what I've been looking for. Are there any links like this for 29 Shamans? My friend and I are making 29 twinks and have struggled finding gear lists that aren't just vomitings of gear.

Don't want to derail this thread so if you have anymore questions just DM me or make a new one. 29 Shaman is a bit awkward for several reasons - but the right player can make it shine I believe. Your only options are full Resto or a bulky hybrid offensive build. 2H is weak compared to shield build which utilizes the overpowered Windstorm Hammer and Vile Protector.

I recommend following my gear list for shaman posted in my guide.

There are a plethora of builds shamans can go just depends on what role you want to play

It's a decent guide, but it's bit slapdash when it comes to Shammy imo. No Windstorm? Eagle in almost every slot will give you zero teeth. Shammy can utilize a lot of the best items in the bracket, don't reach for eagle greens, even on a healer - you'll want a lot more healing power.

Can I just say now that I've made my 29 warrior and I'm nearly finished with librams... get the fuckin enforcer pauldrons instead of brigand's LMAO

40% level xp from Brigand's chain alone, plus another 3k or so for RFK belt/shield, plus Razzeric's adds up to nearly 80% of your XP. I went with the RFK shield in the end because I wanted to try a thorium spike on my vile protector. Enforcer can be obtained as early as 25. They look a lot dumber, so I don't regret having Brigand's, but 80% is too close for comfort when I still need AGM.

Outlaw Sabre if you're Horde, or a Zealot Blade if you prefer.
