I want an ogre 39 pod twinkI like the sounds of this! We need more speculating around here, lately it feels like an exploit exchange...
I've thought about making a thread on this or cata classic so thanks cleatuss lol
This is honestly kind of hard to take a side on. On one hand I cant see them ever getting rid of Classic Era (vanilla) There's a surprising amount of people playing it... it's probably a hefty number of subs.
On the other hand the realm of thinking that Era isn't forever and they've gotta add something to it in order to keep people interested/coming back. They've done a good job of that with the PVP ranking changes, boons, etc. Basic QoL things that sucked that we didn't realize sucked about the game until now.
However a whole other expansion/timeline? With Hardcore that just came out, who knows how long that hype will last coughImLevel21BTWcough, an assumed fresh Season of "something" coming and also assumed cata classic... we would have:
Hardcore, season of X, Era (with possible expansion), Cata, and Retail that are all living and must be maintained.
My opinion is that hardcore IS the current "season" so I don't think we'll have a new one until this hype dies. With Era being the ending place for your hardcore characters once they die is also telling that Era isn't really going anywhere, expansion or not.
Enough rambling... thoughts on "leak"

I don't think its a genuine leak but its cool to imagine! I opened up turtle wow the other day to see what iterations on classic would feel like and I could see blizz doing something like this however I don't think any of what was speculated is actually "leaked"

I'm guessing WoW is Blizzards number 1 revenue stream and it seems like they're about to put up a damn if this is legit. I don't think it is tho. I like the storyline also and could see my self justifying the purchase during a holiday period when I'm feeling extra seasonal, lol. We're all gunna catch store mount-itus if they keep releasing these things. Or maybe we'll all turn into the whales they want and swim to a greater future...
A fun idea but to have a leak that close to the announcement to Metzen's hire feels sus. also. I'm all for green jeezus tho, so bring it on. Thralls parents need more light shined on their romantic endeavors however, yikes thats a weird one to type out.

I did it with the phase hunter the first time because it came with a boost and I was faction swapping anyways! HOWEVER, I would not buy one just for the sake of it.

that's kind of what I'm expecting, that's kinda what holly did with EQ Progression servers when she worked for Daybreak. And think about it, we also are already in a bit of the "era+"
- Chronoboons
- updated engine/API
- PVP ranking changes
- layering (although not enabled in era the tech is there)
- Bnet functionality
- cross server implementation
What kinda bugs you talkin about and what did they fuck up?
but I will say, their bug fix abilities on retail were fucking terrible lol

2019 endless amounts of issues related to the 400ms batching + the fact it was 400 (should've been max 100-150ms). took them til naxx to "fix" it, reducing it to 0 which fucks with classic's game mechanics.
in SoM they used the TBC client and turned into classic, which fucked up all the resist values, brought endless class bugs (for example rogue vanish not removing combat inside instanced pvp, not being able to cs enemies after rocket helm) etc etc. Mostly issues related to pvp.
now on era, you got a mix of all them leftovers the dev's just dont bother fixing.
then there's very questionable "classic+" decisions they've already made. "summoning stones", "chronoboon", wbuff changes.. all of these may sound good at first, but turned out to bring more negatives over time than good.
