It was nice knowing you guys esp the part where you do high damage and most healing in a battleground from soloing 1v2 skirms and of course duels. less than 24 hours left post your hype below

I haven't had a problem with them. Keep spamming them priests :)

Disc Priests won't be changing that much. They will be slightly less mobile but other then that, they will still be the preferred healer.

As a side note: it's hilarious seeing (relatively speaking) all these new comers getting a boner over the most minor tweaks.

Disc Priests are receiving a MAJOR CHANGE. No more Shadow Mend (previously learned at 18, now at 28) and loses Plea ( previously learned at 7, now at 24) which means no more mana-efficient, mobile healing/ topper-offer, leaving Penance the only heal to be able to be cast on the move. Loss of Shadow Mend is a HUGE loss because you can get kicked/silenced from the Shadow School and still cast PW:S, Plea, Penance, or Smite, or get locked out from the Holy School during Penance and still spamcast Shadow Mend, which is why Disc Priests were so OP in the first place. Disc Priests will essentially be down to one heal (Flash Heal) and PW:S and Flash Heal is much less powerful than Shadow Mend. Loss of Plea is also pretty impactful because each Plea heals for ~600 hp? and could be cast on the move. Plea as a level 10 disc priest could pretty much carry bgs if you knew how to use raid frames/healbot/vuhdo/etc.

Flash Heal will be comparable to shadow mend for discs. It's the spec itself that creates the large healing #s.

Shadow mend was rather irritating because if you got kicked you couldn't fear, which will now be null.

Like I said, I mained a disc priest for many years and these changes are if anything a slight nerf.

Flash heal will do roughly 30% less healing than Shadowmend. It's a pretty sizeable nerf. It won't make Disc bad or anything ofc, it will just be less broken.

I guess word for word then it's a nerf. All it's really going to do is weed out to fotms. the priests who do stick it out will just see a shift from spamming plea to using shields more wisely (and frequently) and better positioning.

Overall a decent change, maybe I'll actually have to play my class again.

It will be nice having Wind Shear back and only having to worry about Penance or Flash Heal.

Less absorption from Smite will lower their survivability even more.

Maybe this will be more balanced? We'll see.

I'll still go after Discs when I see them in the pack, maybe a tad less so now than other healers but they're still a priority kill or CC.

So go ahead nerds...roll a white nameplate. muahaha

I'm still very sure that Discipline priests will be the main healer in 20-29, and there's no reason they won't be in 10-19.

Losing smite shield will hurt their 1v1, losing plea will hurt their mobility, and swapping Shadowmend to Flash Heal will hurt their overall HPS and anti-burst.

But keep in mind they still have Power Word: Shield, which is arguably the best anti-burst spell in low level brackets. They still have an AoE instant CC that lasts just as long as castable CC by Locks/Mages. They still have the option for Penitent to keep their healing and mobility strong, or Schism to allow them to double as a top-tier DPS.

I've taken the time to make a little chart to compare some of the healers at 19, which I'll post below.

Please note that these are only brief calculations, and small mistakes are possible.

In the case where one talent might be best for one category and another might be better elsewhere, the optimal talent for each was chosen. This might lead to class inflation in some places, but I suppose having the option to choose another viable talent is worth something in the grand scheme of things.

This is using 7.1 numbers, by the way.
