US Black Temple Timewalking (119 Alliance Community)

We will be hosting a 119 Alliance Community run through Black Temple later this month. If you are in the community and would like to join, be sure to sign up. You can find the 119 community link in the [US] 119 Armory List We will prioritize people who we know has made a gem and enchant timewalking set. Any person who is not level 119 will not receive an invite into the raid when we form.

Date/time:

Raid will be on the 23rd of February (this month) and will start at 7:00 pm CST
Please allow yourself 30 minutes to an hour ahead of time while we group.

Gear drops will be ilvl 305-315 (warforge). Gem socketed gear has also been known to drop.

Relatively outdated gem-gearing guide

Referred from @Petrolsk in the previous Ulduar event thread with some changes of my own.

If you are going, the expectation is you should have put in good effort for TW gear.

Siege of Orgrimmar and Dragon Soul raid have tons of good socketed gear that drops and the SW PVE vendors have good socketed gear available for purchase, or the Blacksmith in new Dalaran for Legendaries to purchase. Enchant and gem that gear up (gems can be bought at SW PVP vendor, cheap with Marks) and get your food and consumable buffs. Many BC gem materials can easily be farmed by killing trash in Sunwell Plateau up to first boss and resetting (without killing boss).

If you're an agility user, https://www.wowhead.com/item=124224/mirror-of-the-blademaster&bonus=1477 drops from Hellfire Citadel (WOD; normal/heroic/mythic) and is incredibly effective. https://www.wowhead.com/item=77191/gurthalak-voice-of-the-deeps from Dragon Soul (normal/heroic) is also very good for strength users.

The 3 azerite pieces (and possibly neck) you have equipped are generally BiS so these do not need to be replaced in TW.

This raid could take up to 5 hours (give or take), so every little bit you do to maximize your character could be the difference in how smoothly or quickly things go. Lastly, watch the TLDR video for BT TW. The more you know.

Typically no. Only example I've seen effectively replace an azerite piece was @waterbottle 's helmet with grandfathered sha-touched gem from MoP.

Maybe helmets with GFd enchants could be good, too. But idk. Azerite abilities are pretty nice in TW

for a week or so after the expansion everyone could receive loot from bfa elites. once they started popping up in 19 and 29 bg’s it was hot fixed so only 110 and up could.

New to the bracket, so pardon my lack of knowledge. But may I ask, why not run TW with highest ilvl possible (BFA quest reward gear, BFA Dung gear)? Is there a particular reason why lower ilvl gear is prioritized?

Do you have any suggestions for a 1 h str user offhand weapon? I have https://www.wowhead.com/item=27901/blackout-truncheon&bonus=4091 and a single socket off hand.

Do you know if https://www.wowhead.com/item=118740/bleakblade-of-shahram&bonus=4193 procs? I know some weaps won't proc on high levels but it might work @lvl 70.

I can't organize an alt run, but i know there would be plenty of people to do a 2nd run, myself included.
