Eng and skinning is usually the best profs for most classes. Skinning for the crit of course and eng for the para cloak that you can enchant with +12 agil or +16 pvp power. Some also use it for the rocket boots and other shenanigans. Hope this helps

You never stated p2p or f2p. P2p I always go with skinning and something else. If you are f2p, there is a very nice thread dedicated to f2p proffesions. Don't DMF is going on right now.

As you post in 20-24 section I assume you are asking about a 20 p2p hunter. In that case my advise is to go herbalism + engineering. Blacksmithing is an option but when I log in to play my characters, I like to find them as I left them when logging out (you could find your gear + gems in your mailbox next time you login).
