Which was the best expansion, gameplay wise?

The 2 best xpacs aren't even on this poll. Smh tbh

Wotlk had the most engaging storyline, cata was my first trial twink, a dwarf paladin and I used to hate playing arms warrior. Mop was when I started playing arms more and found that I love it... And in WoD some of my newer toons use keybinds and I enjoy PvP more. Except for ferals and bms.

I was horrid, but I remember Burning Crusades 19s as being very fun.

I didn't even have a level 70, but I had a nearly Best in Slot 19 Rogue :) Very fun!

I'm the best expansion.

Cata probably.
More buttons for most classes and actually having to drink for mana instead of spamming spells for eternity.
Although playing Arcane/Frost with Swag in MoP was really funny.

Shoutouts to that one patch in MoP though (I forget which one exactly). Running around on my holy paladin throwing 2k holy shocks at people, that was hilarious.

Cata was the best expansion to heal in. MoP got better near the end, but for most of the xpac it was a total snoozefest; I remember playing Hpal in 5s and tanking the entire enemy team for way too long. WoD has better pacing than most of MoP had, but it neutered my spellbook so I don't have many other positive things to say about it.

I loved the gameplay for f2p cata. I thought most classes were viable, and the only real OP classes were hunters and to an extent Rets. Healers actually oom'd then and mana management was a thing. Aside from that, it does lack from WoD's skirmishes, 2min trinkets, and the mount and heirloom features. Cata and Mop gameplay were more fun than WoD for myself.

Holy shocks even kicked ass at end game too, before the hotfix.
TI was all a flutter with screenshots with HPaladin rerollers. And BGs filled with them.
Unfortunately, that hotfix only made all those HPaladins turn to Prot because then in the next minor patch Prot Paladins would the the FotM! Even now, long time Trials still look down their collective noses a bit at Paladins because of how powerful and how populous Paladins were then. Same with Hunters. Much the same as the way some choose to prejudge those that play Druids.

/cheers

Jesus Christ you know you've been playing this game too long when people say Cata is nostalgia rofl

Agree with some of the above, Cata for healers because of mana management, actually having to think about your rotation, spells with little mana cost being useful, calculating the advantages of different gearsets for more mana or spirit etc.

MoP killed hpal for me, I hated the Holy Shock patch and the new fixed mana bar.

MoP was fun with elecrocuting people on the run on shammy though. Enjoyed that at LM, plus thunderpunting people is always great. Thunderpunt and Dominate Mind most enjoyable abilities at 20.

DR / removal and the sacrilegious nerf to Whiskey and Rum turned WoD into a bleak and barren wasteland of desolation for me (i.e. I haven't played enough to give a valid opinion).

I'm assuming this is only for F2P twinking, as it's in the section and does not include Vanilla, BC, or WoTLK. So I will not include those in my decision...

Early MoP, in my opinion.
