Looking around, I'm not sure if there's anyone still here, but on the off-chance that there's even a handful of lurkers hoping to do 49s again, I thought I'd make this suggestion to you guys.

I used to play the 30-39 bracket back during TBC and WotLK, so you probably don't know me. I'll skip the introductions, and just say I hail from the private server Molten-WoW now. It's a blizz-like private server with a realm called Lordaeron on which we've built a pretty large twink community. Very active 19s 29s, and even some 39s and 49s.

In fact, my guild on horde, <Twink Inc>, has about a dozen members who have build 49 twinks. We've been having a lot of fun building them, and even ganking 60s in Hellfire Peninsula, and doing arena, but we could really go for some bg competition. I had originally planned on waiting until we had 15-20 49 twinks before doing some serious recruitment for the bracket, but I figured it might take a month for the potentially interested people to see this post, so I might as well put it up now.

Here's the thing: We're not especially skilled, but we're active, we love twinking, and we're not going anywhere. When we get bored playing our 49s, we play our 29s or 19s or 39s. If you've got a few friends, or better yet a small community, or know where to find more people, consider building 49 twinks on the alliance side on Molten. Just think, you've already got competition waiting for you, and willing to wait however long it takes you to find people. It'd take you a month at MAX to build decent enough twinks to have some fun pvp again. On the other hand, if you're alone, but still interested and would like to not be alone, we'll happily welcome you into our own guild. We're expecting the current alliance to form a 49 guild eventually even without people from here helping. It just probably won't happen for another 2-3 months.

Think about it. And if you have any other questions, please PM me. I check in on Twink Info every few days.

Wow, good to see you again, Jadyn! I'm in shock that enough players are interested in twinking on a private server to get daily games in two different brackets, and moreover you're building a third and fourth bracket.

Gearing a BiS 49 twink in Wrath was God awful. Unless you have a shortcut around Sunken Temple runs and Relic Coffer Runs, I don't know if I'd have the fortitude to try it, but it's an inspiring idea!

Balroy, when I saw the news that WoD was gonna take hit rating out of the game, the first thing I thought of was your hunter. I'm happy to see hit rating go, but your hunter stood as a paragon of what a twink could really do when they put their mind to it, and I'll miss pointing people to that armory.

Well, it's taken some time, but we managed it. I hear that Molten was actually extremely popular with twinks when it first opened, but that it got messed up by all the quest reward gear that was available to any level character who donated enough. It kinda killed the activity 2 years ago, and then Molten basically disallowed it. So I know that twinking is still popular enough. The trick is to get enough people together to start things rolling, and then show everyone else proof that there's something going on. I expect to have all brackets (including 59 and 69) fully active again by the end of this year. At that point, I figure it'll be self-sustaining, and I can take a break from all this recruitment stuff, and focus on the brackets I love, 39 and 49.

I'm not quite sure what you'd need to do relic coffer runs for (I'm still pretty new to 49 gearing). Sunken Temple is a pain, but there are plenty of other options available for gear that isn't BiS, but is still quite good. Vote points for the non-random suffix gear really makes the basic gearing quick, a matter of a month tops if you never run a dungeon. We look at RDF runs as a fun break from PvP to do a little PvE. I'm still planning to get a well-balanced group and see if we can clear all of BRD with only 49 twinks. Will probably have to use only physical dps, and use full PvE specs.

Ever the promoter, Jadyn, props to you. Relic coffer runs granted the (super slim) chance of getting a fire opal necklace or Dark Iron Ring, which had various suffixes. Likewise, Sunken Temple gear that dropped from the six mini-bosses around the ring offered suffixed BiS options as well. How do vote points work? If we could actually choose which suffix we wanted, that would go a looooong way to help. If it would be faster for me to read up about how the server works, I can do that.

Thanks for letting everyone know about this!

We can't choose which suffix we want. In fact, Molten's current vps system doesn't even add those stats, making random suffix gear un-buyable. That definitely makes full BiS a pain, I agree. Fortunately, the more important goal is getting activity and games, not BiS twinks. I don't think we've even done any relic coffer runs yet. We'll probably do those someday.

Make your 80 and twink on the Rag server first, it is 20x normal wow so the drops and xp are better. I'm gearing out STatT members alliance side for the eventual xfer to where Jadyn and the other 49s are (which is Lorderon). In one coffer run we got 2 eagle fire opal necklaces.

    EDIT:
    Here you go: http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=120863

We did it way back legit, vid is old.

The people that made it from start to finish was a Marks hunter (me) prot pally (pockets), enhance sham(belagio), and then the other two slots were a healadin (taxus), enhance sham2 (tinytaru), healadin (lethal), and disc priest (wonder).

Haha, that's awesome. I definitely want to do that now. I remember doing a 10-man raid of BRD back during vanilla and wiping in the last quarter. XD

I have to say, if it wasn't for all the other crap they did in Cata and MoP, WoD removing hit rating as a mechanic would have me interested in doing retail WoW again. That's the mechanic that should never have existed at all. The idea that I can't hit a character just because their level is higher... utter bs.

We're remaking STatT/OoN on that private server so tell everyone that likes 49s to roll over there. We want others to demolish.

One thing at a time. Though I do know 79 is pretty active on Lordaeron too.

Me, I'd like to do some AB and large scale world pvp at brackets higher than 19 and 29. I'd be pretty happy if we could get the population for that.

I'll pass it along. I haven't seen many 49s around.

Still am, to my disbelief sometimes. I took a month off, but got pulled back in.

How many 49s do you guys have on lordaeron? Is it gonna be worth our time to make an ally guild there? I just want to know before i spend money or votes xfering chars from ragnaros

Its also too bad we can't directly advertise on the main wow site, lots of people that would be gung ho to make chars on molten wont even know about it

That last part right there... is the main issue here. If any of you guys know players still playing retail, and can get someone to quietly pass the word around, we'd be swimming in 49 twinks.

As for your question... Have a screenshot:

That's at a non-peak time. Normally we have 20+ players in other brackets online. Kinda funny to have mostly 49s online at any time.

Here's the thing, we can get 5 49s online pretty easily. But we got another 15 or so alrdy leveled and in guild on Lordaeron. They're playing their 19s and 29s while waiting for 39 and 49 to get active. The on top of that, we have another 100+ players who are active daily on 19s and 29s, but who would be interested in leveling to 49 if they saw games happening. The reason I'm not focusing only on 49 is because I view 19 as the "gateway drug" to finding more people interested in other twink brackets.

The reason I titled this thread "An Audacious Suggestion" is because what I'm looking for is people willing to take a risk, make an investment, and help build a community on Molten. If we get enough people on both factions who are willing to put in the time to build some twinks and play games, take screenshots, maybe make a video, and basically demonstrate to people that "hey! we're here, and we're having fun! come join us!", then we'll be able to truly get something special going here.

We already did that with 29s, and it worked. Now we're doing it with 49s, and I'm looking for similarly interested people in 39s.

39 is the sweet spot for twinking, wish we could get them as active as the 29's already are on lordaeron.

We're working on it. I'm starting to actively search for my old guildies and teammates, we're building extra 39 twinks, and farming mats for even more enchants. I expect 39 and 49 to be as active as 29 is now by summer.

Lot of good faces in this thread.

The sound of Sunken Temple and BRD Coffer runs makes me want to rip my eyes out.
