Alot of GF'ed items in AH recently, any explanation?

Has anyone noticed this? personally my own server usually doesn't sell much rare twink items between 1-29, especially stuff that's been GF'ed since the Catacylsm revamp.

these are the items for example (that I see on the AH now):

- http://www.wowhead.com/item=4449/naraxis-fang
- http://www.wowhead.com/item=7761/steelclaw-reaver
- http://www.wowhead.com/item=9423/the-jackhammer (scaled to 60)

As a collector myself I'm not complaining, but can anyone explain this?
 
There's been a rumor about GF'd items being re-integrated back into the game. Just a rumor, I haven't yet found any proof from any of the experiments I've tried (ie- killing rares that once dropped said GF'd items).

Well I am seeing gfed items in the AH, items that have been gfed for years, and now they're in the AH, and they're level 60 requirement, meaning they have succumb to the new scaling system, meaning they have dropped recently.

Probably explains why there's random scaled BVBs on AH. I've personally seen a level 46 (was either 41 or 46 I don't remember) and a 36.

Edit: I find it very hard to believe that a random leveler would just stumble across it from opening x amount of lockboxes, or even have those lockboxes to begin with, but who knows.

Why did you go to 29? Was vet not working out for you?
Also frostmourne is kinda dead now, amaletta seemed to have vanish, will you be returning to BH anytime soon.

I went to level 29 (and left all my f2p accomplishments, facepalm) BECAUSE I leveled to 21... by accident (livid).

But I am enjoying my time as a 29 and I haven't looked back.

I agree that frostmourne is dead, which I enjoy, because I also a PvE on my twinks, which means more for me.

But I mainly moved to frostmourne, because I live in australia, and I used to lag badly on bleeding hollow. If BH didn't lag for me, I would be there right now, its the only reason why I'm not there.

For some reason, being on an oceanic server helps me lag alot less, even in a bg, where I play with and against other US players, I don't get it, but it is what it is.

Speaking on amaletta, I keep seeing alts on my server with this name, I keep asking if its her, but It never is (livid).
 
Yeah man I can sympathise with you on the ping thing. In the two years since I made my 19 warrior on BH ive never, not even one time, gotten off charge first dueling another warrior. The home ping for me right now on BH is 252 on Frostmourne right now its 31
 
Some GFed items from rare mobs have been reintroduced (scaled versions so the original ilvl ones are still GFed afaik)

PoD and The Jackhammer have been dropping again since last patch, scaled from 40 (ilvl 41) to 60 (ilvl 58), the lvl 35 (ilvl 40) versions are still GFed

As for BvB, it use to drop from “Rohh The Silent”, now that Chromatic Sword is dropping again, scaled BvBs might be dropping from rohh. The battered junkboxes drop the level 21 (ilvl 26) version. This vid is from 7.0.1 when scaled drops were a thing and this 50 rogue gets the unscaled version.

Yes, most of the previously GF'd items that were removed as unique drops from mobs were brought back with Pre Patch.

They are still selling high, due to people camping the spawns.

Give it a few weeks, or when BFA officially hits. Then no one will be really bothering to farm for them.
 
Chromatic Sword has been dropping again come 8.0.
The Jackhammer never stopped dropping, but its one of he rarest items in game. (You farm Uldaman if I'm not mistaken). Also I do believe the influence of streamers such as Asmongold with almost 30k live watches influence the farming of this as he desires this item for himself.

Some GF'd items have been brought back, yeah. It's wise to sell them quickly. However, items such as the Defias Set, Mw/Ww gloves, Goblin Screwdiver, etc remain still unobtainable.

that video is from 2016 though, scaled items werent a thing then

They did bring some items back with 8.0. seen jeweled dagger.
scaling on items atm is messed up so alot of items drop unscaled to high levels.
hard to distinguish sometimes between old and new drops.

if you a banker collecting them - try to avoid it.

that is just game abuse.
 
I think one big factor is that gear matters again, so people are looking to sell their twink items since they are relevant again. My guess is they couldn't sell when all that mattered in Legion was item level x)
 
Only some specific items dropping again not all previous gfed
 
A big factor (but not the only one) is people getting on their old accounts to try out BFA, so they find old stuff on their account to sell. This happens upon every xpac release.

So basically if u see someone logging on an old account, ask if they have any boes they don't want. You might get em cheaper if they think 20-30k is a lot.
