Speaking of kale. Has anyone seen him in bg's??

Perhaps its based on when you leave the battleground whether or not you get the debuff. So say you leave before the gates open then you don't get the debuff at all. But if you leave like six minutes into it you get the debuff.

Nop. It's RNG, has nothing to with score either.

I afkd earlier from a Russian 5 man Hunter farm fest. Got me a 4min 50 sec debuff. Can't remember how long was left on the bg timer tho.. As 3 ppl left before me I figured maybe they had afk'd before some cut-off point where they don't get deserter.

If not what's RNG? The duration, or whether or not you will get deserter?

I believe it's the duration. Also, there was a bug on the US sever where if you AFK'd in combat you didn't get the debuff at all.
