89 need shadowmorne?

I have a lvl 85 pally left over from cata and was thinking about taking him to 89 and try out the bracket. My question is is there a better option than shadowmorne at 89 or am I stuck doing the grind?

Shadowmourne is extremely overpowered atm, but Gurth is prolly better

Agreed, gurth is op.

Also feel free to stay at 85, no need to get to 89 unless you want engineering trinket (dragonling) and head. For ret I would go for the Shadowmoon questline (teron gorefiend) reward, head slot, it has a lot of main stat and 3 sockets. For trinkets there are some pretty good, including the amazingly op Bonelink fetish.

The changes to scaling made it so the gap between expansions is virtually negligible (I can kill 100s on my 85 depending on the class) so its possible to use gear from earlier expansions with great success. The 80s bracket benefits from this a lot as you can use gear from TBC, Wrath and Cata (the first 2 scale up to lv80)

Thanks for the info guys. I'm kinda bored with 19's so I'm trying to make use of 3 toons that I do nothing with. They are 69 89 and 101 so I'm bouncing all around the forums asking shit about all of them.

I have twinks on the 60s, 80s and 111-119 brackets, 80s is by far the most fun for me because it has better balance than the rest (better than 120 too). Most, if not all, specs are viable and besides disc there are no really op specs. Also, the power difference between twinks and casual levelers while noticeable is not that big,you won't be playing god mode so you will actually need to put in some effort if you queue solo.

I have been running a few bg's on a 101 the last few days and I have really enjoyed that bracket. I'm glad I found something to do with my old legion power leveling toon other than take him to 120. I plan to start working on my 89 mid week. Got to many irons in the fire. By next weekend I'll know what I think about the 80's bracket. Which boss does the gurth sword drop off of?

It doesn't proc much 1v1 but is crazy in team fights. I dual wield on my fury war. And when it does proc it does help the 1v1 a lot. Each individual tentacle is around 600dps and it scales with berserking buff.

@tomxoqt thanks for info sir. If I remember correctly dragon soul is one where you ride on death wings back. I'll be on my alt account trying to run my pally through. I bet that fight is tough trying to control both toons and not fall off. Probably just let pally die and then loot chest after the boss is dead I guess.
