70s go get your toons de-leveled!

Gamed

Grandfathered
I just wanted to make a post because i know a lot of 70s accidentally leveled up during the xpacs or whatever and never played those toons again.
Recently a lot of people have been submitting gm tickets to get their toons back to 70, and it actually works. Even if you get rejected the first few times. keep sending the tickets because they will eventually de-level you back to 70. This goes for if you are level 71-74 i believe. So if you have a 70 that dinged on accident send those tickets and get your toons back to 70! I know quite a few people who recently did this after having there toon be at 71 or 72 for years! It actually works guys go for it!

I'll go ahead and confirm this, Valencia @ Moon Guard - Community - World of Warcraft

We understand how important twink chars are to our players. While we didn't used to have the functionality to "rollback" characters to a previous level, the Developers found that a vast majoirty of our players do in fact use the Disable XP function to try and cap out at a certain level. Since it is a part of our game, we want to help those who had accidental levels. Keep in mind though this is all exception based and not something that we can grant every time upon request. As of now though your Level 72 Alliance Pally on Moon Guard is now level 70. I hope this pleases you.

Thread OP is presumably referencing more than one person, though. If anyone else has had a character rolled-back within the past month, please do share. My character has been 71+ for nearly two years at this point, so I don't believe time would be a factor in a GM's decision to roll a toon back to whatever level.

Actually, what you're describing is GM harassment, which will earn you a ban.

These are some of the statements the GM's said to me right before de-leveling My 71 rogue back to 70, i feel like it is completely necessary. to send multiple tickets because the first response is always like this.
GM:
Wow, I'm very sorry you're running into this issue! As part of the stat squish for 6.0 character that are right on the cusp of leveling will show at 100% and will only requre 1xp to push them to the next level. However, if you do get pushed over we do not have a way to de-level a character. I'm soooo sorry I can't help you with this :(

Then after re-opening the ticket and talking to the Gm via in game chat, they were able to re-roll my character back to 70.

Harassing the GM Staff
If a player or players send abusive tells, abusive tickets, or multiple tickets on the same closed issue to the GM staff—or otherwise misuse our reporting system—they will be asked to stop. If they continue, they may receive an account penalty.

Do you guys think they'd de-level my 85 warrior? Or are you positive it's only for 70-74 ;(

The further out you are from the requested level you wish to rollback to, the less likely they'll comply. Have a friend whose hunter is 78, and the GM essentially replied with my statement, I'll see if I can grab and c/p the response here later today. ( Doesn't mean you shouldn't try, he's opened another ticket in attempt. )

I highly doubt it's harassment, even the surveys themselves ask you how many times you had to re-open / submit your ticket till your problem was solved. xP

Grats Val on the de-level. That Pally's been sitting at 72 for too long. ^.^ (Time to change your sig picture)

Thanks for the grats, you guys. And she really has, that little Paladin means a lot to me; felt such remorse to have leveled her on mishap, then further out to grab avenging wrath since the GMs didn't show any promise with their continued frustration of opening tickets. Better believe it that the GM that rolled me back got one he** of a survey response.

Feh, thanks for the reminder. I'll have to remake it.

That's because they want to know how well their staff is doing their job when players have legitimate issues. If you went and did a quest but for some reason it bugged during phasing and you were unable to complete the quest, they want to know that the GM correctly handled the problem. Sometimes GMs misunderstand the issue or the ticket wasn't clear enough, I've had responses that had absolutely nothing to do with the issue I was experiencing, which required me to open one or two more tickets just to clarify.

When you open a ticket, and the GM tells you that unfortunately, they cannot de level characters because the game was not designed to do that, but you open another 5 tickets which end up getting the same response, that's GM harassment. And yes, you can get banned for it. First it will be a temp ban, then it will be permanent if you persist. By ticket 3 or 4, you'll even get that in their response. They will literally tell you that continuing to open ticket about the same issue (you want to get a toon delevled) is GM harassment.

Good luck.

I have a question.. lets say I have a levle g72, and I do all the level 71-72 quests.. do i keep the items? or is it reverted to the items/gold/gear that i had at level 70?

Have you actually experienced this? In my personal experience (limited as it may be) nobody has ever been banned for spamming tickets about deleveling characters. I knew a guy who spam ticketed to get his hunter deleveled for about half a year, resulting in neither a delevel or any kind of warnings/bans.

Boy, I bet you're fun at parties.

I have had a 21 de-leveled on my 3rd ticket. Although, it had been a few days, not years. I told them he was very close to leveling and I knew it and meant to go lock xp, but I got up for a second and my 10 yr old brother finished the dungeon, accidentally leveling me.

I'm sure if anyone got to the point where they might be banned for reopening a ticket, said person would stop. Regardless, I don't see the point of your post, no one is being harassed, and if the GMs did feel harassed, as you said, they'd state it in response.

You do keep everything, I have a few mog pieces in void storage from quests. I didn't really think about that till I read your post, I'm really glad I got to keep Crustacean Stompers - Item - World of Warcraft .

Curious to how timewarped items would react.
