Hey guys,

It's as the title says, if you have any suggestions or ask any questions for rules of the twink cup. Here is the place to talk about it, keep it simple, no trolling allowed.

Rules 39 TC Committee has come up with so far, RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. NEEDS TO BE TESTED BEFORE CONSIDERED FINAL!

Format:

Teams will be seeded into the arena tournament based on the order that they submit their rosters. Teams will be seeded into the BG tournament based on their team's performance in the arena tournament. Teams are limited to a 15 man roster with 2 alternate characters per player. Players that have been included in your team's roster can be subbed in between games at any point in the BG tournament.

Team Comp Rules:

Arena: (Idea at this point)

General Rules:

  • Any teams that are 10 mins late for their games, automatically lose that game, So on and so forth.
  • Arena maps must be chosen randomly.
  • Format: Battleground games, are done by real double elimination - every game best of 5 - finals best of 7. If winning team loses in the first BO7, they will have to do another BO7 for decider.

Idea 1: Rules are as follows:

  • 1 Class Limit, 1 healer limit, 1 Hybrid DPS limit. 1 stealth limit (This includes all classes), Double DPS limit, Must have at least one healer class.
  • Any spec that has healing abilities that can be cast on their teammates counts as an hybrid dps, not including warlocks' health-stones.
  • (Ferals Banned)
  • Only 1 Melee is allowed per arena team and the following melee are:
  • Rogues: (All Specs)
    Warrior: (All Specs)
    Shaman: (Enhance)
    Paladin: (Ret-Prot)
Monk: (Wind Walker/Brewmaster) - Guard is banned
Hunter: (All Specs) - I know hunters aren't melee, but they have to be on this list.
    Druid: (Guardian)
  • Only 3 players per team, your not allowed to change class, spec or race. Only thing your allowed to change is Talents and Glyphs.

Idea 2: Rules are as follows:

  • Everyone has to run Priest (Holy or Disc)/Mage (Any Spec)/Rogue (Any Spec) but the rogue has to have 7.5k health unbuffed scaled, with fort that equals too 8250 minimum in games.

Battleground's

General BG Rules:

  • Any teams that are 15 mins late for their games, automatically lose that game, So on and so forth.
  • BG Queing Format is still being decided.
  • Format: Battleground games, are done by real double elimination - every game best of 3 - finals best of 5. If winning team loses in the first BO5, they will have to do another BO3 for decider.
  • Brewmaster banned
  • Feral druid banned
  • No more than two of any class. (Only 1 rogue/enhance allowed.)
  • Only 3 Melle allowed. Does not include hunters. Just up and close melee. The following are:
Rogues: (All Specs)
Warrior: (All Specs)
Shaman: (Enhance)
Paladin: (Ret-Prot)
Monk: (Wind Walker)
Druid: (Guardian)
Warsong Gulch/Twin Peaks:

  • No More than 2 stealthies. (FC druid does not count towards this)

Arathi Basin/Silvershard Mines:

  • No More than 3 stealthies

General Tournament Rules:

  • All Jumps are to be decided. A video will be made for what jumps are allowed, anything outside the video will be banned. If a player does a jump that is not allowed in the TC, will result in a automatic loss in that current game.
  • Teams must be logged in and ready to play 30 min before the start of their match.
  • Every team leader needs to add the spectators through either battle tag or email.
  • Teams must be willing to have their games spectated and streamed.
  • It is the player’s responsibility to ensure they have a secure connection.
  • If a player disconnects in the 30 seconds of gate opening then the game can be restarted. A restart can only happen once for each team per series unless the enemy team also agrees to a replay
  • Team names must not include profanity, racism, poor sportsmanship references (queue dodging), cheating references (flyhacking, DDoSing), the name of another person unless they are on your team
  • It is the responsibility of the team to have good sportsmanship and show respect to the tournament organizers. If a player is found harassing anyone involved in the tournament, they will have 2 warnings and on the third warning it will result in the removal of the re-offending player
  • In order to get the spectator ad-don working some simple rules must be followed. This includes, but is not limited to: Adding the specified people on real id (email), not battle tag, Going to a certain location in the game, Re-logging when requested
  • If it is found that a player is using third party software, abusing a bug or exploiting the game in any way then it will result in an immediate removal from the tournament. Has to have visual proof. Not by what people say via text or voice recordings.
  • Any attempt to deliberately throw a games or conspire to fix the outcome of a game before it is played will result in losing that series with the current team you are facing. Goes for both losing and winning team if involved. So as a example if that happens in winners bracket, both teams will automatically go to losers bracket. And if done in losers bracket, will be out of the tournament.
  • Players cannot use toys, guild banners, or any usable item that isn't equipped on their character except health-stones, soul-stones, bandages, and the pvp battle standard.
  • Green Whelp Armor, Swift boots are banned.
  • The Following Profession Items are allowed:
Minor Recombobulator
Major Recombobulator
Gnomish Death Ray
Red Whelp Gloves
Gem Studded Leather Belt
Figurine - Black Pearl Panther
Figurine - Jade Owl
Tome of Kings
Royal Guide to Escape Routes
  • Any item with on use or proc stats/cc ect, if they are not on the list above, are not allowed
  • All profession items with persistent effects are allowed (Such as Catseye Ultra Goggles/Green Lens ect...)
  • All grandfathered gear that can do any kind of CC is banned.
  • All grandfathered glyph's are banned.
  • Using the unstuck feature to kill yourself if you're not stuck or if you have intentionally made yourself stuck is an exploit. And will result in the team automatically losing that current match.
  • All weapon swapping is allowed.
  • No FC's are allowed to abuse the swim speed bug whilst holding the flag, all items glyphs and abilities which increase swim speed are banned for this reason. If seen intentionally doing so, the team will automatically lose the game.
  • No FC's are allowed to intentionally use Displacer Beast/Blink or any other speed increase abilities in-between stacks. As this temporarily free's up the movement speed for one whole stack on the FC. If seen happening more the once, will be questioned and potentially lose a game if found guilty.
  • EVEN IF A TEAM IS SUSPECTED OF BREAKING A RULE, BOTH SIDES HAVE TOO PLAY IT OUT AND AFTER THE VIDEO WILL BE ANALYSED AND A RULING WILL BE MADE.
  • Any rule broken will result in automatically losing that game.
  • Anything done outside these rules will be considered as breaking the rules and will lose that game.

Throwing my 0.02 in for suggestions:

No feral. (obviously)
BM - I'm in two minds about this. It sort of seems a staple for a team, at least coming from a 19 premade background. That being said, it does really limit comp variety with the utility it provides in an un-dispellable slow. Both teams get bogged down and it hurts the enjoyment of people watching, and people playing. There's less options to do things with movement because of it. I also have an issue with it when it comes to 3v3. If we don't do something, it's going to be a repeat of the 19 3v3 TC and be Brew/Mage/Disc. Not saying there isn't a comp people will gravitate towards, but besides Thug (rogue/hunter/disc), which will be 100% not allowed (no rogue/hunter on the same team), there's currently no other comp that's just too good not to play. Lastly, having a brew in node maps sucks for attempted caps. There's other teams that can aoe, but they can be killed or cc'd. Brew can not. Their self dot with no poly glyph combined with their aoe is going to make it so nodes never change hands.

Enhance - An absolute limit on 1 x Enhance, if that. I won't go to in-depth on this one, but Enhance is tricky to deal with. Overall they are considered fine, but in premade comps they are going to be a huge issue with their damage. They are somewhat kiteable, but Ghostwolf at 150% speed (120% base) with freedom totem is enough to get them where they want to be. Then they basically solo things.

Limit 1 x spec on a team, with the exception of healers. No double Spriest, double Lock or any of that.

No weapon swapping (enchant stacking) outside of healers. Healer mana isn't amazing in this bracket, so them being able to swap between spirit enchants should be allowed.

Edit: Speaking of 3v3 arena, you might want to consider a base HP required. Having played plenty in-guild, damage is high without enchants and people wearing stam gear. Just something to consider.

Rogue/Hunter is definitely the best comp. Can also see lock/mage be really strong or ww/hunter.

Jumps should be allowed in all BGs.

The jump rulings should be as followed:

A video showing EVERY BANNED jump.

There's far too many jumps in the game to put into a video.

I'd like to volunteer to create this video if you decide to choose this ruling.

It's kind of sad how much effort we must go through to make this game enjoyable.

On the other hand, it's pretty awesome to see the community come together to sort out blizzards mess.

BM will be tested if it will make a large change of banning it in premades - 2 melee limit will prob be enforced(excluding rogs) No need to fear double shadow, if they want to drop their disc that is their death. A BM is there to control and limit a fight - if people are rocking freedom totem then they can freely run from it, the previous premades showd that BMs do die without guard.

In arena I don't think BM is viable without guard and there will be a 1 melee limit cause double melee op as fuk, hunter/rog cant be on same team, could take enhance but at your own risk of it being swishy as fuk.

Is it sad? every competitive scenario has limitations and rules set which are more strict than if the same game / sport was played casually. Video games only have laws which stop u from doing certain things (flying around at will, going thru objects) but many things are still possible in the game (glitching thru areas, unfair spots). Creating a limited enough playing field is key to having the games actually show technical and strategical skill in the most balanced way.

Banning BMs is one of the single biggest changes that will improve the quality of games imo. Forcing people out of their "hur-dur-BMs-slow-everyone" mindset could lead to some creative & interesting comps, hopefully.

Perhaps it might even lead some to try something other than cookie-cutter one single class spec for exclusively for fcs. We used to see several different classes work for FC duty, seems crazy that now that the HP of 39s is about 3x what it was, that we're limited to a single class/spec choice for FCing. RIP 39 warlock FCs. (not saying lock is even close to viable for FC now, but ya)

was referring more to game balance in general. like i said it's great that the community is willing to impose restrictions to create a more competitive atmosphere. it's just crazy how many of them there have to be in order to balance pvp at this point in the game.

Let's have strippers and blow

arena = no gf gear (tidal charm and deadmans hand combo is quite a huge game changer unlike 19's where the difference is maybe 100 hp or somethin)

no jumps as 95% of them are terrain exploits anyways
I'm all for BM's either being banned, their slow and guard not allowed, and ferals banned.

increase caster amount as well to make games less "cleave" heavy and more diverse making for better gameplay/viewing on streams etc.

If enhance is such a problem due to the windwalk totem then just take that out as an easy fix as well.

Windwalk totem is a shaman spell not an enh spell. I say leave enh in as it stops you running Ww/Bm/Warrior and limits your healing setup. Jumps pretty much the same as TC but be 100% clear on jumps allowed. IF IT IS NOT IN THE VIDEO YOU CANT DO IT NO IFS NO BUTS.

No BMs, Lol okay........
I suggest no Disc Priests because Bubbles are too strong. *shrugs*
