US 39 Enhancement?

I am thinking of making a toon and getting into 39's. I plan to play (A) side and do not plan on leaving my server to join a guild. I hope to get going with the communities.

So the question really, is enhancement a viable option for bg's?

Since I am here, are any of the warrior specs viable?

I haven't seen any enhance that really stood out, but it is viable.
The majority of players will fight that statement, but it can get by 100%.

And all 3 warrior specs are viable.
 
It's a shadow of it's former glory. Windfury might as well not exist, and the damage is mediocre other than that. You can do it, but it's not great at all. Really sad.
 
Vibroblade might make enhance quite viable. IL 51 flurry axe proc I heard works as well at 39.
 
I would roll enh over fury. If you get bored of fury youre stuck with arms(yuck). If you get bored of enh you've got two other perfectly viable specs to work with. In conclusion enh, or shaman in general, is a much better investment of your time :).

Also, enh rocking a vibroblade is probably super nasty as veechard said
 
I've only ran into one enhanced shammy that was mildly good. I've played that class a lot in the past, but the talents look terrible now. Elemental and restoration are a blast at 39. Both can do some decent damage and are very versatile. Not many classes can beat either of my builds one on one. Had a 3 on 1 that turned into 4, and beat them with elemental. Granted they were levelers, but I felt OP after that. Was 2 warriors, druid and a rogue.
 
It's not that enhancement damage is bad, its that "any" another melee just wrecks you in honestly 2 seconds with out you having straight up pocket heals... and anybody healing you is not healing other good specs/classes on the team... so you are double screwing your team. If the damage at the 39s was balanced enough to where you could take out a shield and 1 hander somebody that would be different, but doing that only adds .00001 seconds onto your life versus Crusader procs and Scepter procs... we are just not in the correct damage bracket for enhancement to work.

Honestly you should just put crap like any "slows" on your weapons and just try to be the off healer harassing spec. The damage is just not complete at the 39s.

Mainly tho, being unable to even slightly stand toe to toe with any other melee is just not good enough. Even if you are running correct setups with the headcracker and a cudgel... it's meh. Hoping for vibroblade procs while a Fury Warrior is mauling your face is also just a bad choice.

I would just get a princess scepter and hope for scepter procs/windfury procs and be "that one guy that rolls hard 2 hander style"... I would probably heal that guy just to do it in a game, but I just won't prioritize a regular enhancement in a group fight... it's just not worth it, and quite frankly takes a bad healer to make the choice to heal an enhancement (at the cost of anybody else).

If you already have a shaman and you want to spend 1 or 2k on some enhancement stuff... sure... if you make an enhancement just for it's own sake... you will be disappointed.

Enhance damage is actually really good. Its just not too consistent at 39. I would recommend it to others though. Its a blast to play
 
Thank you everyone for all of your feedback. I was just thinking enhance as it is my go to class at end-game and has been for expansions. It is just a class I know well, and I do a pretty good job at it. BUT, as most have pointed out, I don't need to be a mana dump for healers, and just a target dummy for the other team.
What I want is to get into this and have a good time with a community. So since I already of a 39 warrior sitting here, I think I will go with Fury and see if I like the BG's and Groups. If this is a good fit for me, then I might go ahead and level that shaman and play the other two specs for now, wish that someday it will be the FOTM! Or start leveling a few other characters up.

you also just get a flat out nerf in elemental force coming up... that is a direct loss in DPS... Fury and Retribution suffer zero. You can use things like landslide, but the proc is honky-tonk bad.

Quitter right here! Life is to short and I am too old to be worrying about trying to hold on to something that is not a good asset. I did not say I was not going to still level it.
But I will still level it enhance, and will more then likely farm gear with it, so I may still end up that way for solo Q BG's. Will see.

aw, i was just giving ya a hard time. Level it for sure. I feel like people have undersold it. It's not that enhance is bad, its that things like fury are really broken. But if youre an experienced enhance shaman you'll have fun.
 
I know you are just ribbing me. And no offense taken. I am more looking forward to something different then 120 and 19's.
In Game now trying to gather some gear together. Looking for mats for chants etc.

It is unfortunately just one of those things where they people telling you to play one are going to be the same people that don't play one because its not good.. just like the 29s where people say that shit is viable... right. I would just make a 85-90% twink one and get the feel for it before you spend any amount of actual money.

I would at a minimum get the cudgel and the cracker... will at least make it not suck donkey****.
