29 dps tests - single target lvl 1 dummy

Single target DPS tests on the level 1 dummy in cathedral. Roughly 5-10 minutes test.
Characters have pvp trinket and freeze epic ring equipped, so 2x gearspots are occupied by pvp-type items, not for dps.
Gearing as pvp since we do pvp not pve.

I found that equipping a dps-ring instead of freeze-ring gave about 20 extra dps.

Obviously this doesnt say too much about class viability. Shadowpriest is still good, because they have good burst, but a dps-check doesnt reveal that.
They can do a 1200MB+1800DP combo, so its 3k burst there.
Ferals are top notch, it is possible to cram about 5k damage into the 4 second pounce stun, 3600-4500 being normal, WITHOUT the 40% buff. So if they have the buff up they can 100%-0% someone in those 4 seconds, if they get the stealthed opener. Without it, you normally do 80% of someones hp.

Singletarget DPS:
BM Monk: 576dps
Feraldruid ferocious bite rotation: 574dps
WW Monk: 552dps
Feraldruid rip rotation: 535dps
Guardiandruid: 522dps
Armswarrior: 496dps
Retpal: 437dps
Survival Hunter: 420dps
BM Hunter: 400dps
Shadowpriest no orb glyph: 369dps
Shadowpriest orb glyph: 332dps
MM Hunter: cannot be tested on full hp targets.

Max hits:
Feraldruid ferocious bite: 4397
MM Hunter Aimed Shot: 2830
BM Monk KEG: 2454
Retpal templars verdict: 2000
Shadowpriest devouring plague: 1848
Warrior mortal strike: 1611
WW Monk single Fist crit: 1230
BM Hunter Kill Command: 1171
Guardiandruid mangle: 1142
Survival Hunter Arcane Shot: 761

Interesting numbers:
* When warrior rend fades, it can do very nice damage. About 1300 crit in my example.
* Hunter - Flintlockes increase dps by about 20, over gnomish xray scope
* Hunter - Flintlockes proc hit for around 400, and can also crit around 800.

Nice type of thread as long as people understand lvl 1 target dummy is like a lvl 29 beating on a naked 20 . Now vs a plate wearer such as ret , arms warrior or any tank. The numbers will be way way off and different.

yeah its possible to theorycraft any numbers from this, aslong as we get the numbers, both on average player armor within classes, and armor on this spesific target dummy.

updated with bm and ww monk.

Not only that but there's still some pvp damage reduction hidden that makes players do about 25% less damage against other players. 1200 MB + 1800 DP is not accurate vs players. You''d have to go extreme glass cannon vs players to achieve those numbers (which still might not be possible within the realm of gearing/enchanting in 6.0) and then you'd die in an opener because you have very little hp.

You should setup duels with another player and have him self heal for about 5 minutes while you derps, just to see accurate pvp numbers.

this is vs a training dummy. look thread title.

point of the thread was to give people an estimate of how the different specs and classes compare, not exact numbers :S

it would be interesting to do this test vs all classes, getting spamhealed for 10 minutes. however "a bit" more difficult to setup.

I understand the point of the thread. Accuracy is paramount in helping people understand the differences between classes. If I didn't know better, after having seen the numbers you posted for shadow priests, I'd be freaking out about them.

But if you posted more accurate numbers that reflect base damage reduction in pvp, then I wouldn't freak out so much. For example, Chaos Bolt hits NPCs for 1200, but players for only 800.

i can do more accurate pvp numbers for sure, thats what were all interested in.

im not sure how it all hangs together right now though.

is the facts like these:

* there is 25% damagereduction in PVP vs PVE for all classes and specs.
* all classes now get 150% crits, down from 200% physical crits before patch

is there more?

Pve still has 200% crits. pvp has 150%. So that would mean there is no base resilience and it's just a difference in crit amount. 1200 MB would be 800 and 1800 DP would be 1350.
