I tested against dummies and in a duel. Can't test It in BGs because I still have some days of sub. From wowhead i think the proc starts giving you life after level 22. So maybe It works there because you get upscaled to lvl 29? I don't know how this upscaling works, but outside of BG It won't...

Wraith Scythe doesn't work at lvl 20 btw. I mean. The proc happens and damages the target, but you don't get healed so it's better to use another weapon (like the artifact one)

If I face a premade that's about to stomp me I'd rather have them try to win the game as fast as possible so no one is losing time or getting the afk debuff. So, in short: Always play to win

And that's why twinks usually don't like them. They like doing 1-shot damage and post on forums that they are the world's best on XYZ class/spec. Having to rely on actual individual skill would prove too shameful a truth for most.

The only benefit I would think of is ease to buy gear (like ilvl 28 greens with gems) in a heavy-twink realm. If you don't plan on being THAT hardcore (or can't even afford the gold too) I say it makes no difference at all
