Oh, that explains the why. I guess they are trying to make bgs less lopsided when groups of twinks with enchants and food q together. So I suppose from our perspective it's a good thing. Even though it was a nice feeling to have something I could put my energy into doing to make my toon better.

Thought I'd give this thread a bump because things seemed to have changed. Seasoned Wolf Kabob, Redridge Goulash, Murloc Fin Soup no longer give +5sta +5ver but instead give +2sta +2ver :( I don't know why this is the case, but does this change the fact they are still the best food I can get...

Yea, sorry my use of the word 'lock' was misleading the last part of what you wrote is what I meant. But so even though it's a moot point for now, I'm wondering how trial accounts would fare in classic bgs. since current WOW employs some scaling mechanisms and possibly other things to even it...

Oh wow, then if we F2Ps do ever get to play classic in the future we theoretically could choose to "lock" ourselves at the top of a BG bracket. Although I'm not sure about other considerations, like scaling. Perhaps a 19 F2P in classic might be stomped even harder a 20 F2P in BFA.

Has this changed? Because in the past I was hoping that you wouldn't get exp from bgs that way I could stay at 19 in the 10-19 bracket instead of 20 in the 20-29. I've leveled toons to 20 starting when you can first enter a bg with no quests at all after that by doing only bgs.

Ok, thanks everyone who responded, I guess that takes care of that :( Too bad, would have loved it. I guess we can hope that perhaps some time in the future they will allow trials.

Searching the official forums I've not found a definitive answer yet. They say all you need is a subscription but does that mean you need a subscription for the whole game and F2P's will be able to play to 10 or 20? Or does it mean YOU NEED A SUBSCRIPTION! :P
