I haven't played much this xpac, but I have enjoyed 49s the most. I have only played at 39, 49, and 59.

I didn't get a PoD unitl TBC. I don't remember what weapon I used in vanilla. I was arms sword spec at one time where you got a chance for extra attacks, think I used this. I got two PoDs off the AH for ~20g a piece. I sold one and kept one.

So far all of the warforged invasion gear that I have gotten on my 39s and 49s has been one ilvl lower than the normal gear.

For my horde paladin as holy when I switch from the lily to boa shield I lose one ilvl(60 to 59), lose no stats, and gain armor. I haven't checked this for my 49 alliance paladin, but i don't see why it would be different. I can screen shot it whenever I log in if anyone would like to see it.
