Armour type matters

Hey guys,

Not sure how recent this is (probably since patch last night) but ilvl gear is now not always superior to heirlooms/other pieces. I just tested it on my rogue and found that heirloom helm and legs are better than ilvl pieces. I am unsure if this is for all classes/specs but what I can say is switching from mist piercing goggles to heirloom gave me +2 agil, +7 stam and +3 armour

Weapon speed is still BiS.

Shield is also > than off-hand if you can use it.

Hope this helps.

Edit:
- apparently a feral druid gained 1 stamina by equipping goggles (a level 19, i am lvl 10). Not totally sure what is going on here.
- a lvl 19 rogue lost stats changing from ilvl gear to heirlooms
- my stats stayed the same when i changed from ilvl to normal neck/rings/trinkets
- level 19 outlaw rogue in ilvl gear had 97 agil, i had 99 in wpvp gear

tl;dr: it seems that level may change whether it impacts you or not

Yes I just noticed it also. Using my Rock rings and Goggles etc I dropped about 150 - 200 health plus stats dropped also.

Time to get rid of the blingage boys and get the real stuff back out :p

I will do some more testing when I get the chance but I noticed a DROP in Stats by removing Mist for another item on my 10. Granted I only tried my next highest iLvL (Eng Goggles) which are technically Cloth and I was on my Hunter so later I'll try the BoA Helm to see what the diff is.

BOA gave me more HP, Went from putting Leather legs and boa helm from 3230 hp > 3244 and 1+ stats in agil, stam, crit.

This is due to hotfixes happening, ILVL gear with no commoncy (Uncommon+) Are also useless starting from Legion.

Will research more, and post more on this thread to keep you guys updated.

So what seems to matter is armor type? Rocks and necks don't have armor types so you'd want highest ilvl there.

Mist-Piercing should be better than lower ilvl items that doesn't have your primary armor type either, like LFH on hunters etc., due to higher ilvl. But Heirlooms should be better cause of armor type. And Rogue masks should still be BiS since they're leather armor?

Heirloom helm is better then goggles for hunter.
