Let me guess, you are 55 year old right wing male with 3 children who regularly attend soccer practice?
There's no such thing as ''soccer'', it's football. omfg when will ppl learn
what u americans call ''football'' is actually ''eggball''

That is literally the same mentality as schoolyard soccer.
Not quite.
But then you are putting it in the hands of the people that play in the event rather than the people who created the event. Idk if I completely agree with that. It should either be all in house or all out
I never said put the rules in their hands. I only said for them to be involved.

Right now I have a complete lack of desire to participate in the organizing of this tournament, others are urging me not to step out, i'm waiting for a reason.

Elaborate please, Conq. Give us a reason why do you lack desire ?

Skeezin predicted this.

Conq extorted Myrm at gunpoint in order to get a significant portion of TI shares. Now Conq has used his influence to pay off members of the "TC Committee" in order to exclude prominent political figures from participating in rules discussions.

This isn't just lobbying, this is NWL mafia rule.

This has been an amazing read. The babies crying over "how was this committee chosen!?" ... "why doesn't my guild get a say!?" ... "its a community run event!!" ... and so on, are genuinely embarrassing to read. Think of it like an event which is being run FOR the community by a third party. Regardless who came up with the idea, YOU didn't need to put in any work to actually bring about all of the stuff which has been laid out, and you can choose whether or not you want to compete! Plus, on the bright side, the people running it have actually shown that they are willing to take peoples opinions on board through back and forth on this thread and saying that they will talk over the constructive points raised! Where else will you see that? You guys have obviously never entered any other competitions before if you think that just by being a participant, you somehow have the authority to organise...

On the team members rules input thing:
People in this thread claim that they want this is for fairness' sake, but who is it you actually want to see in the committee? Leaders from the 6 invited teams? We didn't know who was invited until this post came about. What about the wildcard teams? Do we include them too? How would we do that, they're not all fully formed yet are they? OH, and don't forget about the 3's tourney! Better try and find a member from all of the 16+ squads who might show an interest in competing to come up with another set of rules. Oh shit, we now have 30 people in a group chat and if just 1 isn't mature enough, they will name and shame folk and get their team to do the same, shittalking about how the rules committee is unfair and how one guilds opinion is more valid than others and that the whole thing is a sham.

The long and short of it is everyone in here who now has SO MUCH TO SAY regarding what rules should and should not be, didn't actually make any efforts whatsoever to try and aid or help the current team who have actively dedicated time and effort to taking the TC forward. If someone can prove to me that they were brimming full of great and constructive ideas and were then turned away at the door of the evil rules corporation the please do by all means. But I'd be willing to bet that none of the people crying so hard actually made any positive effort to get themselves involved. Why would you? It's so much easier just to sit back, let things happen then QQ and flame for all the niggly details until it snowballs into people just bashing people like I'm doing now. :)

Some of them actually BELIEVE participants get to write the rules in real tournaments and events. They just can't comprehend that is not how the real world works.

This is obviously a clever ruse.
Tournament staff wants all teams to quit so they can cancel the tournament.
Then they divide the prize pool and donations among them.

:)

:Kappa:.

But no really, can we temporarily lock this thread or something, It's gone nowhere in the last full day other than circletalk. You gotta "deliberate" between however many chosen leaders there are and come around to amend your first post to your satisfaction, then open up for more discussion. Nothing will be said from here that hasn't been said in the previous 15 pages.

(protip: tournament makers decide the rules, teams that wish to participate in said tournaments abide by them. That's how tournaments work. Of course, usually said tournaments have... slightly bigger bases and a solid, well thought out ruleset that doesn't need dramatic alterations... but still demanding that teams playing all get a voice in the rules is pretty dumb, that's not how competitions work. The NFL teams don't have a representative in the NFL rules committee.)

edit: @Boostz under current, original post ruling, as it stands you can't use that head enchant as it's not specifically on the list of allowed arcanums. But that post will definitely see some changes once people have had a chance to get together and talk about the changes. No battle standards in the original ruling by omission... things will change.

I don't have any idea if it was a factor in SR's decision, but I will say that I'm personally a bit put-off and confused by lindenkron's confrontational and borderline aggressive demeanor in this thread. Obviously that's not to discount any of the work put in, but calling members of the community idiots and taking a "don't like it? do it yourselves" stance seems counterproductive to me.

Lmao.
1) we're playing 19 twinks, an unbalanced bracket out right.
2) 0 game designers in this community, it is going to take a group effort
3) we're in azeroth, bud.

I'm very excited for the Twink Cup this year, regardless of Skill Ratio's involvement, or lack of.

@Bacon
It's called thinking about it, and coming to a different conclusion, you should try it some time.

Maybe you should stop getting so emotional over silly little things then drastically changing your mind an hour later, especially when you're supposed to be a community leader. I can do what I want, I don't represent or stand for the TC.

conq/blackout/jaxel ruined this year twinkcup over complicated rules.

And if sr won't participate this twinkcup will be boring.

Hehe, lots of people in this community think with their hearts, and not their heads, i'm not one of those.
