US You May Want To Be A Little Cautious About Letting Your Accounts Subscription Expire!

Hello everyone, my subscription ended today and my account has changed to a veteran edition account, this may or may not be a bug but here it is.

I heard some people are having this problem, and I don't know if there is a solution yet, but I have been able to line up on my Vet account. Maybe check the Armory forums if this has occured for others, and if there is a solution.
I experienced a wipe of all my UI with the last patch, but there was a simple work around and it's fixed now, so maybe the patch has done some other weird stuff. Good luck either way.

To be clear, when your subscription time lapses, the game essentially reverts to a starter account. That's what a "veteran account" is.

Because it's not a starter account. Starter accounts have never been upgraded before. Veteran accounts are to allow players to still log into their low level characters without needing game time. The game time just lets them be able to access any characters and content above level 20.

You can't mail gold around as a Veteran account, so you would have to earn 10g on each low level character that has XP turned off.

so you just have to re-enable your xp for this to be fixed? i believe thats what i got out of it

its not a bug
that is because when turning vet, your characters XP wont be enabled automaticaly anymore, so people could stop asking GMs to de-level their accidentaly leveled 19s

well, there seems to be a bug with enabling XP gain
one of my vet characters cannot enable XP.i was able to unlock XP on 2 characters, but it doesnt work for this one
it must have something to do with the unrestricted f2p bug, f2p system seems to be broken lol

• Starters can't use xp lock, otherwise they could do xp locked 19 BGs. Do you know any 19s who want endless badly geared F2P scrubs in their bracket? 19s pay towards the game, they got sick of F2Ps in their bracket, they complained, and the game got changed, because Bliz: A. don't want to annoy subscribers, B. want F2Ps to pay for content.
• When you go from subbed to vet bliz don't remove your XP lock, or people would complain about having to pay to get it back every time they re-subbed, or when going from vet to subbed they could accidentally ding their character if they didn't know it had been removed. GMs can't de-level characters. There are no tools to do it. The only option they have is to transfer all the gear from a dinged character to a fresh level 1, and they won't do that except in certain circumstances (it happened to me when a GM dinged a character that was supposed to be XP locked, but they had a bug a few years back that removed it).

So, if you want to BG on a vet that's XP locked, you'll need to unlock. If you can't unlock then that'll need another ticket (wouldn't put it past them to block all starter accounts from both locking and unlocking, forgetting that vets may need to unlock).

So a veteran (subbed acc that had it times run out?) account that has 19 twinks on it can essentially still q 19 twink xp off bgs without a sub?

no, its not possible to queue for any XP locked bracket with starter edition status

Something has changed then since last year. I went Vet a few times last year, and every time my sub lapsed, all my Vets had their XP locked and they could all line up for bg's. I never had to unlock it once Vet. It did automatically unlock when I re-sub'd, and I almost levelled my warrior to 21
So something has changed or bugged out for Vets.
I would really love for Blizz to correct some of these bugs, like Vets profs or not being able to do Archaeology. I wouldn't think it was that hard to make them all work the same. Or maybe they just want to frustrate us back into sub's!
Edit : btw has anyone else had their equipment manager stuff it bad at the last patch? All my warrior weapon swap sets r r00ted! Go to swap sets and she gets naked - wtf? Can't fix it either.
