A Few Questions for a New 29 Druid

Hi, I am planning on making a level 29 Druid, I'm still not sure what faction or spec yet.

Best Druid spec between Feral, Resto, and Guardian? I am thinking of going feral but I have noticed Resto does similar cat damage and has way better healing. What's good? Are all specs equal? What is Guardian even good at?

How are queues for Alliance and Horde? I'd like to go onto the faction with less players & more challenge. Are there specific days of the week where queues are shorter and games are more active?

How do the exp off queues work? Do I need to turn off exp at level 29 and then I am queued with everyone from level 20-29? Or is it an exclusive queue like before?

Thanks

Let's start with faction. Honestly, there's no dominant side, as it really just depends on the time, day & who has decided to queue. I've played both factions & have been steam-rolled on both on a very inconsistent basis. If you want my honest opinion, I'd suggest rolling Alliance, as they seem to be a bit weaker in the PUGS as of late (at least that's how i've seen it).

Your spec? Well, if you want to be hated by the entire bracket, play Feral. It's OP AF, but it's also a complete faceroll & has over-tuned abilities (namely ferocious bite). It takes little to no skill to play the class and you won't be taken seriously or accepted into premades. If you don't care about your personal/social status in the bracket, then feral is great. Guardian is, in my eyes, more respectable. You can stack some serious AP, and still deal some damn good damage with Ferocious Bite (it's SO overtuned). It doesn't have self-healing that Feral does, nor the stun-on-opener, but it's a viable choice. I'd say they're underappreciated. Now, Resto is an interesting spec. It's not really used as a healing class as much as it is for Flag Carrying. The majority of Resto druids you see in BG's are stam-stacked for flag carrying and might just have off-sets for heals. Some are true healers, but they're not quite as potent as other healing specs (drastically more mobile though!). They also CAN deal some great damage, if you gear them for it. I've crit over 4k with Ferocious Bite on my druid in a set of gear specifically designed for kitty form DPS. It's fun, but there's just SO MANY druids in the bracket. If you want my advice, i'd avoid Feral and Resto & play Guardian instead. It's not as common and is still viable. If you want the harsh truth i'd just NOT roll a druid though, as there's just so many due to their "Flavor of the month" damage/survival increases in WoD. Some people (such as myself) mained druids pre-WoD, but the vast majority started playing the class in WoD and have flooded the bracket, causing a negative stigma towards the class.

Your queue times tend to be best on Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights (PST that is), but there's people on most evenings. For me, being in Western Australia, the times are a bit different. So, if players in the US are queued on a Wednesday night (for example), it means I get great pops on Thursday morning (due to where I am and the time zones). If you're in the US, then the evenings/nights on the weekends are a sure-fire hit, and so is midweek it seems.

1.) Both factions have their fair share of aids

2.) 29 Feral is absolute godmode, it can take down any healer from 100-0 in it's 4 second stun duration (Thanks to Glyph of Savagery - Item - World of Warcraft and Tiger's Fury - Spell - World of Warcraft)
29 Guardian is basically a feral druid without the 4 sec stun, savage roar, tiger's fury, but has a 3 second silence
29 Resto Druid has low healing, you can do some sick damage in cat form, or just FC (mainly what they are used for)
29 Balance is probably the most fun spec. It has very good damage, very good burst (starsurge + displacer in for 5 combo fero bite), has a silence, and overall a fun spec to play.

3.) I can't speak for this since I'm not US

4.) When you lock your xp, you are put in a seperate queue with other people in xp off. The 20-29 bracket is slightly different because there are level 20 trial accounts that get their xp automatically locked once they ding 20, there are trial accounts that get the best possible gear (f2p twinks), there are veteran accounts (level 20 twinks that let their gametime run out, esentially playing a fully enchanted twink without any need for gametime), and there are 29 twinks.

There if of course a big gap between a f2p twink and a 29 twink, but this gap isn't as bad as before because a level 20 is scaled up to have the stats of a 29 in battlegrounds.
