Mage or Hunter, 91 or 99?

Hey! So, making a twink, got enough gold, should i play my mage or hunter? Kinda wanna play my mage cuz of rank 1 title, challenge mode transmog etc but hunter seems alot more op, are both "viable"? If i made my mage, i guess i should go 99 for legendary quest ring? If so, what is considered BiS? Getting the staff upgraded to level 6, the trinket and like the neck (got legendary cloak). Should i go for something like Hood of the Burning Scroll - Item - World of Warcraft and Khadgar's Robe of Triumph - Item - World of Warcraft or should i stick to contender + prideful set piece (for PVP)?

Sorry for wall of text, litteraly just got back to the scene from a years break, would be fun to start tryharding again xD!

Haha i guess, just thought maybe, just maybe there was some wotlk/cata set piece that made fire or some shit op ^^

arcane was op in cata when they just ran heroic pve gear and one shotted ppl in dragon soul aptch
arcane did retarded damage in wotlk if you ran heroic pve gear but my rogue would 2 shot you cause no resil.


idk how it is now at high lvls

Yeah, would be fun, anyone have a mage at 91/99? :)
 
Mages are almost never in a bad place in PvP. If you're truly as good as your R1 title would proclaim, then it really wouldn't matter what spec you played. Fire is in a really good place right now in the twink bracket along with frost. Ever since Vayporjr started messin with his fire mage Butchermage on US has there been a high increase in them in our bracket. He never got around to upping full 6/6 before leaving, but his blueprint for an insane gear comp is still there.
