Bring back the bracket

Wyrhan

Grandfathered
So for now ... I´d suggest to close this topic and to begin with a new one focussing on "How to bring 60s back to life" ... COMMUNICATION issues should be focused first, btw.

As cFx suggested, a thread about bringing back the bracket instead of picking on each other would be an awesome idea!
I would like this thread to be for everyone ofc to share THEIR OPINION and come with SOLUTIONS to how we can revive this bracket.

Read through what you are about to post here:
 • Don't hate and talk shit about other people
 • Don't trash peoples opinions and ideas
 • Respect each other
 • Find solutions instead of problems
 • Give constructive feedback

If your post breaks any of those "rules", please don't bother posting it.

Looking for more horde battle.tags to be posted honestly from someone on alliance side I know very few. Would improve communication throughout the bracket if myself and others had more contacts. Takes one simple PM ^^ Add mine TopGnome#2866.

Its not enough preventing ppl from using the BA equipment in organized wargames. It wont last well, we need ppl to queue regulary and then Prot specc shouldnt be the first choise with almost same damage + their survival.

Atm no1 would choose frost/unholy as there is blood with bonus armor available. All you need is to start a thread on forum and get some responds in it and the last pieces will be nerfed within a couple of days.

This will bring back a lot of hiding people out there.

That is not 100% true, I have a few friends who play unholy/frost but yeah that's 3 out of 100.

I think it would be a good idea if people were told about the Legion expansion and about how BA won't work. They will just get used to the BA and when they can't use it anymore they are fucked.

Advice people not to play with a broken set of armor and make a thread about queuing on a specific day and time and we can go from there. Spread the word in in the different guilds and see what people think about it?
Also I would like to note that I've no problem with people leveling past 60 to acquire a certain type of spell if there class really needs it. i.e my fire mage getting dragon's breath at 62 which a crucial spell for fire mages in my opinion. But leveling to 69 on a for say enhancement shaman to get full socket gear is a bit of a push over.

Only think you can like a certain amount of posts each day :) To not turn into a like bot or summit.

I agree, classes like mage and warlock really need those few levels and socket gear to stand a chance versus any class in the bracket.
When that's said I wouldn't allow them in the 60 twinking guilds though.

No I wouldn't either but I felt I was a big underdog in 1v1s and what not as a 60 mage. The same would go for a warlock I would imagine as those two classes are two of the more weak ones.

What exactly is BA?

Rules, which forbid speccs/gear, which are available is just impossible. If every guild would make those rules and every guild-member would follow, there is always this one guy existing, who gives a fuck about rules and regulations and chooses what he can to roll over everyone else, they don`t care if it`s unbalanced or an exploit. You can still create some "Moral-Compendium", which goes cross-server and get`s a part of EVERY guild.

So my first idea to make a big step into the right direction would be to create the very basics ... an Cross-Realm-Council for the bracket, where 1! single player from every guild in the EU ofc gets a spot in. This council should kinda make the rules on TOP of every guild-rules, where things like the "Moral-Compendium" get`s created. So for that step we should collect all available active guilds and have a little chat in TS or elsewhere for discussing about such a council. So how powerful it should be, etc.

My thoughts on which tasks the council might have (just a quick brainflow) :

- Raid-Time-Discussion (difficult topic, but when starting for BGs it might be horrible, if horde guilds raid on saturday, sunday and monday and the alliance guilds on the rest days of the week =P So you just can`t expect a pop within the next years)

- Class-Mentor-System (So collect the most nice and informal players from every class, don`t matters if horde/alliance ... to lead newcommers, who would love to know more about "How to play their class" to the rights persons.
- Bracket-Mentors? (have mentors for every one, who is interested in the bracket ... where all their questions get answered)
- Cross-Realm-RL (Creating Cross-Realm-Pugs to gear people from all over the world and show them our bracket)

So the general idea behind this would be to create kinda a crossrealm- and faction-overlapping pact with a leadership, which in fact is just like an guild-leadership, but much more powerful and which would benefit EVERYONE!

- No time on raiding with guild A? Talk to your leader and he will put you into another guild-raid temporary ...
- Not longer interested in 40-men-Raiding and searching for challenges? Talk to your guild-leader and he will find something for you ... maybe getting a crossrealm-hardmode up-and running?

When something like this leadership would get born and would work (every pact-guild accepts the pact-leadership-decissions) we would`ve found the basics for everything =)

In another post of mine I´ve mentioned kinda the idea of a bracket-tracker ...

http://www.twinkinfo.com/forums/f27/bracket-tracker-70497/

I´m still working on the design and would love to create it for the council with a few more interested features, which will need a lot of time ofc ... I was thinking about something like openraid

OpenRaid - Blu's Hellfire N Last Bosses

Where you can post events and other players from whole EU can just sign-up ... from basic Boost-Raids from the PvP-Guilds (getting as fast as possible BIS) to Arena-Tournaments, Open-World-PvP and Classic AVs (summoning all the cool forgotten NPCs).

The idea behind this is to connect EVERY 60s player with the rest of the 60s without focussing only on guild-live.

So recruiting for the bracket instead of single guilds, would be good for everyone =)

I like the idea about a council for the bracket with 2 members from each server (1 Horde and 1 Alliance).

Now about the Bracket-Mentors you mentioned, we've tried that in PoA and how it worked was that I promoted some people to an officer-like rank and they were to help the new members. I can confirm that it's a very good idea and the new members got a very good introduction into the bracket.
I can reveal that the new guild master of PoA was one of those "Bracket-Mentors" and he became very loved by the members.

I think this bracket council will have the best effect on the small guilds out there because it gives them a chance to join the larger guilds events. In Classic and PoA we've tried this before with the raid runs and pvp events.

Good to know =)

Sadly not every server is blessed with horde AND alliance twinks. But so I guess, we would need some deep insights about ...

How mayna active guilds are currently existing?
Which guilds are missing? Horde/Alliance/Raid/PvP/Casual/etc.
How many Alliance-guilds and horde-guilds?
Which are raid/casual/pvp-guilds?
About how many active players are we talking, when we are talking about the 60-bracket?
How many twinks are hibernating and why?

How can we make our bracket more attractive than all the others?

But most important getting a list of guilds up to speak to everyone =P

Valithidir has made a video about our guild and that've attracted a lot players to the guild, I know because they told about a video they saw.
So I guess if we have people from the different guilds who upload videos about the bracket, that will be a step on the way. I know we already have toklo and a guy called Stimmur.

About gathering guilds, I have a spanish guild master on my battle tag, I will try make contact to him and tell about this.
(He is actually not the guild master but officer, the guild master doesn't speak english so I guess it would be better if he, the officer, represented their guild.)

What exactly is BA?

Rules, which forbid speccs/gear, which are available is just impossible.

The NA 39s have (mostly) successfully removed all players that play Feral or use Brewmaster's Guard. In the past they also removed Aimed Shot from being usable.

The problem is, you need enough people to will this into being - not just a few people trying to get a room of rowdy kids to fall in line. A 'council' doesnt work to enforce, even if they come up with an agreed upon rule set, only a community with the same goal can enforce it. The randoms that will come in after seeing activity, and try to ruin it with their OP class/spec are given a choice: follow the rules or get kicked. And again, this only works if you have enough people to all agree to trying to give someone a chance, and kicking them if they dont follow the rules.

Just some info, hope it helps. NA just started getting games once a week, and though quality of players seems to be the main problem atm, it appears no FOTM OP class/specs have really had an impact.

Do you mean war games and such?

The way I see it, there won't be any randoms when both sides just queue in 5 man groups and if we decide to do war games, the rules are set.

No, we dont do wargames. We do single que WSG (and this week we are also queing for TP).

Wargames lost their luster many months ago, when all we could get were those 5v5s which arnt really that fun. Sure you can do wargames and invite who you want, but that isnt going to bring back the bracket. If anything it will continue to exclude people more than just having a rule set for regular qued games (because you might sit people out to get more even games, etc.).

Right now we just say "dont be scum" and basically laugh out any of the scum that do jump in. I think we had 1 Prot warrior and 1 Feral a week or so back, both AFKd out during the first game.

I see the idea of cutting off that guy from all activity but I think it's quite risky to do, it may either make him do it even more or still make the guy hated even if he those to follow the rules.

Heres the sad reality of a bracket that is dead and wants to be brought back... though you need more Randoms to come and join to breathe life back into the bracket, a single random playing an OP can turn away more from ever queing again. You have to cauterize the wound before it festers if you ever want to bring back the bracket to ever having real games again. Granted, being a dick to some random might get him to keep queing, it doesnt mean he will get to play if you have a community to enforce the rules.

Typically this is how it goes when encountering a scum OP random:
1) Ask him if he could play another class/spec/not abuse broken 'X' mechanic.
2) Mention the rule set that the bracket has in place and point him to the Forums where they are posted.
3) Offer to help him gear out a non-OP class/spec.
4) Everyone Vote Kicks said OP abusing scum.

The people that want to FOTM faceroll will find a way to do so, regardless if thats in this bracket, another bracket, or EXP On BGs. Those types of people will always exist and they all want a cheap thrill of "MAN IM GOOD AT THIS GAME". The trick is to put up enough community effort that they cannot play in your games - period - and instead move on to some other bracket. It doesnt matter if you piss them off enough to go rage at you on the forums about how "I PAY 15 BUCKS A MONTH AND I DESERVE TO PLAY WHAT I WANT." Making them 'angry' by kicking them does nothing other than that. If they just reque --> you just rekick. Really is that simple in theory. The problem comes from having enough of the community on both factions to enforce it when it needs to be enforced.

The stat bonus armor itself is not going to fade... the only issue is the amount of it as a 2 set of valor, shadowcraft, lightforge etcetra. It needs a nerf like the other pieces had.

Why are we even discussing to forbid it ? are u people idiots or ? there takes more effort to block it per player than just report the last pieces as a team ?

Tbh this chat leads no where. Why would u wait to storm legion untill this gets away ? so many ppl who still wants these pieces to be available for use whenever you are sad.

The majority of people in this bracket queues without even having gear. And there mouths are floating around about classes being fotm etcetra. If u gear em all equal to each other most of them would still be viable. Locks and mages lacks a couple of spells yeah.

Dont we have any old twinks thats been around for long ? ppl seem clueless

Everyone reported imperial plate set wich gave 150 ? bonus armor. And they are history now, why dont u do the same with valor and the other sets ?

This question is still not answered and i know why.
