Bracket Tracker

Hey!

General

As I`ve finally reached my 10 posts (with some nonsense posts) to actually create my own threads I want to show you guys an idea on how to fix the queuing issues in general.

The general problem is: There is no transparency in the blizzard-system to show off, how many ppl are actually queuing. And as a casual twinker you just want to PvP and not waiting ages for an pop. And after some days of trying you loosing hope and leaving the bracket to search an more active one.

So we kinda need some main-contact-platform for every 60 PvP interested guy (TI is awesome as a forum, but not as a chat/real-time platform for queue management). So my idea is to create some main-contact-page, where all the necessary information get`s stored and posted to get the bgs up and running over a longer period, not just for a few days and than months no pop again.

On this page you would be able to register/login to see how many guys are queued for bgs and how many active players the bracket has. In order to be able to track the queues it is necessary to manually queue on the page and to be active there, if you won`t use the service it`s gonna be another useless try.

With the time I´d be able to add more and more features to simplify the process of queuing.Sadly the WoW-API don`t supports any Real-Time-Communication between the WoW-Client and a WebApp, so this needs to be done manually by each individual user. I´m currently working on something, but wouldn`t continue, if there is no need for such a queue application in this community.

The first approach would be an manual queue, where you need to click a button. Later on it could be a companion-app to provide a simple joining-queue feature on the fly. Currently it`s just possible to have some workarounds, but better these kinds of workarounds than having an illegal feature, which could be detected as hack/cheat/bot =)

Conception

So here is my first design-conception on how the page could look like, when you`re logged in. I´ll focus on the main-feature and don`t add shiny unnecessary stuff ... it will first of all just be an Queue-Page!

How this should work

1) When you queue for BGs in WoW, just log-in on this page and click the "Queue"-Button to get queued on our page
2) When multiple people are queuing from different Servers you will see the how many are queued for horde/alliance and how many are left to get a pop

3) As long as the page stays open in your browser you are kept being queued, when you leave the page, close the browser or shut-down the PC you are getting removed from the queue.

Last Words

This isn`t the perfect solution, but it`s a possible solution to get some more insights into the 60 bracket. So we get information about who is queuing and when exactly is the best time for joining the queue. So we can collect data and work with this data to everyones advantage.

While getting regulary updated information of who and how many are queued, the queuing will be much easier. Also we`d have a main-contact-page for every 60 PvP interested player, where we could add daily News (BG-Days, Arena-Tournaments, etc. ) and maybe even track BG history later on. And maybe even release an Rule-Compendium ... farming GY won`t help the bracket.

Just like, whisp or whatever, if you think this could be a good idea to help the bracket ... if I´ll get enough feedback I´d love to work on this and add more and more features, which are requested by the community.

And this will only work, if there is enough support, if 70% of this community just don`t use the page and are too lazy to queue on the browser and InGame ... it`s just not worth the effort! So this "project" relies on the existing guilds and players out there.

On this page I´d give a few ppl moderation, so they could announce nearly every 60-PvP related important stuff, from special BG-Days (AV, AB,WSG) to Arena-Tournaments and much more. This would aim to be No1 in getting informed about what is going up in the PvP-Bracket and what battlegrounds should be queued today.

eLo cFx,

Great idea you got going here, I have a few suggestions and would love if you could add my skype: Snaske2

But 1 idea could be to use blizzards oAuth, that way people dont have to signup but simply can login with their battle.net account and choose which char they are quing on.

Best regards Shamatix
