Profession Issue

Hey guys just gonna leave this link here to a forum post I made

This was blizzards response:
Profession Restore - Forums - World of Warcraft

I just want some clarification on whats happening here, every time I revert back to f2p on my vet, my proffs get locked down to 100 and when I upgrade again they just sit at 100 and I have to relevel them, even thought the profession tab says "master" "zen" etc title but the proff level is at 100. Even my cooking has recipes that are above 100 but their locked and I cant make them because i'm reverted back to 100 skill points

Vrakthis is, as ever, full of shit. The term 'Veteran' is used by the developers to refer to Starter Edition accounts where the sub has expired.

This is from their own interface code (BlizzardInterfaceCode/Interface/SharedXML/Util.lua), and is used every time the game shows you one of those 'you can't do that on Starter Edition' messages:

Code:
function GameLimitedMode_IsActive()
    return IsTrialAccount() or IsVeteranTrialAccount();
end

IsTrialAccount() is checking if you're F2P, IsVeteranTrialAccount() is checking if you're Veteran, and GameLimitedMode_IsActive() is combining the two to check if you're Starter Edition.

And of course a pleb like Vrakthis wouldn't know this because he's just some stuck-up PR guy, who has no contact with anyone who actually knows anything. Instead all he can do is make shit up, then lock the thread so no-one can call him out on it.

Welcome to typical blizzard employees

"There was a time in Mists of Pandaria where there was no cap on professions, regardless of the character level. This did not last as it was exploited, by some, in such a way that low level characters were farming up high level materials.

This was some time ago, but when the caps were put back in place it did lower the professions of all players who had exceeded their profession level cap. More than likely, that is what you are seeing in this instance. Losing the profession points was intended as it ensured that it would no longer be exploited."

How do they even get hired? Worst of all they have been working there for years as of now. Its one thing to be clueless if you are a player. But its another story to be that dense if you have been working for blizz for years.

And how you can farm high lvl mats (any mats, they just get converted into shards or stalks or w/e so you have to farm 2x -3x just to make one) because there is no level req on mats now(You coulnt do that Pre WoD)

I want to post a giant facepalm but then I know its kinda pointless

Wait, so Vrakthis gave a reply that had nothing to do with the particular question in point, and then locked the thread? Man, that's like 90% of the replies I get from GM's in game. Rather depressing.

hes not a GM, but a CS agent those are supposedly more advanced because they ''apparently have more knowledge''of how•Account Security and Compromise Recovery•Account and Character Services•Customer Service Interactions• work.

It's not like profs don't have level limits on them anyway. This whole 100 cap is just pointless asshattery. If they had a problem with low level chars having grandfathered levels over the new limits, then why couldn't they impose those new limits? Because Blizzard does not have one competent programmer in their whole dev team to apply skill levs according to character levels. If they did they could actually fix some of the endless bugs in their game, instead of them being there for years until the content gets replaced via copy/paste from somewhere else, that someone else coded, before they left the company.

Losing millions of players? Need to do something about it? Why hire anyone who can, when you can just have your artists give the players the Demon Hunter class, so they're all so busy creaming themselves that they forget you failed to finish the current expansion that they payed for, in order to push for yet another rushed xmas release, for a short term bump in player numbers, instead of actually fixing any of the problems in both the game, and the company developing it.

There's so much arrogance and disrespect for the players, that anyone would think Blizzard devs are sticking their over-inflated salaries straight up their noses.

Man that's like the worst gm responses I've ever seen, its not even close to what's going on lol
[MENTION=23518]Turtle[/MENTION] can you see the things you can craft at 500 but are just at 100? Or did you loose all the things you learned past 100?

Its a code bug for sure, it's overwriting your professions with the current lock instead of starting where you left off.

Not the worst. Looks to me like a completely normal response ,one that should be typically expected from a blizzard employee

You cant craft, those recipes are learned but are ''Red'' to craft

OK so you still have everything, your skill level is just 100. So you'd have to relevel.

Yea its bugged, it's not restoring your profession level from when you had an active sub.
So that's bad on the forum gm for having no knowledge of how that works and really bad on the gm in game for not bring able to see you HAVE the receipes learned!? Come on...

Open a new ticket and show them you have recipes learned for 500. That might work.

How long has this been happening? A little while ago I renewed my sub for 2 months and all my profs went back to normal. This is probably only going back 3 to 4 months ago now. My profs are also stuffed now that I'm F2P Vet. Does that mean when I get my 7 days free it's not going to fix my profs again? If that's the case, it must have been something in the latest patch.

Doesn't seem right to me :mad:

And I agree with everyone, WTF was Vaegrinn talking about in that post?
