Why is there no swearing?

The problem is finding people who will actually allow us to run ads, we've had very little if any real success.

ohhhhh gotcha :O what about those silly adds where its like "single mom discoverers breakthrough treatment for blahblahvidis" or " you'll never believe what these celebrity's look like now"

you see those everywhere ! ( fouler places than TI for sure )

or maybe you could get in touch with the people at wowhead.com and place a link on ti where u get a lil $ for ever person that goes there via TI.

additionally a lot of podcasts I listen to have a deal where if you buy anything off of amazon after clicking on a link via their website it doesn't cost any extra but they get a little kickback. For example Probably Science (top right corner). could have something like that for TI.

does shane still run KHA ? maybey he'd pay something for a banner like the old one

fresh out of ideas for now but I do a lot of thinking( zoning out) at work and will let you guys know if I can come up with something .

Interesting ideas, I can say we are considering some amazon stuff.

Shane is out of the equation. Shane let this website rot for years and now he is attempting to put a nail in the TI coffin by ignoring us and attempting to prevent us from getting a Vbulltin liscense. I think we will survive, but we've got a mountain to climb.

No, your right you had no way of knowing, the truth is that during the application process we are completely prohibited by the application process from saying anything, if we had there would have been no point to it in the first place.

It sucks that we didn't get accepted but now we have to move forward and discuss other ways to generate revenue for TI.

TI might need a few doctors in the near future.

I wonder how many TI users would support a total wipe of all the posts in the site, and then rebuilding fresh and reapplying to Google, if they went into it knowing that it was the only way for TI to survive financially? I think tons of people have lots of faith in Myrm, and want to see this new era of the website flourish, and honestly this fits well with the "clean slate" philosophy, and most of the actual Info in TwinkInfo is pretty outdated and could use a rewrite anyway.

Just a crazy idea submitted for consideration and discussion.

just after looking at arena junkies and MMO-Champion it would seem that they had a bar on top of the page for CURSE. They might be an advertiser to look at as Im sure ppl on AJ are just as crude as here .

Hosting Twink Videos by community members as well as streams might be another option (although im not quite sure how it works) Both AJ and MMO-C had a tab for videos or streams.

also a shame to hear shane is being a prick but the website is in much better hands now and im sure the community agrees. Given a chance im sure they would go the extra mile to help myrm out too

Surely Myrm has the demographics of the user base of the site. From there, it would just be a matter of extrapolating relevant information and ads that would interest the largest portion of the site's members.
I am also sure he has access to how many users access the site via mobile as opposed to PC. Myself, I almost exclusively visit the site via mobile. I'm sure there are all sorts of metrics that Myrm has access to. In which he can use to come up with a viable marketing plan. For instance, if most of your users are mobile users you can advertise some mobile products. I do not know if Myrm's metrics can drill down to percentage of Apple vs Android users. But it is a good guess that the overwhelming portion of TI users have mobile phones. And I would venture to guess 100% have access to a PC. Maybe ads for Internet providers? PC parts? The possibilities are endless. You just need to know your customer. And Myrm has some of that information. Or so I would presume.
Good Luck!!

Considering the fact that Myrm banned real money transactions I doubt he would want to advertise an account selling website even if Shane was interested.

Is myrm, unbendable on the "stick to blizzard's cod" thing? Gold, account, powerleveling selling sites might be an option.

This website will be in line with the WoW ToS as long as Myrm is at the head of it.

It does not necessarily have/need to be a WoW base banner. Anything that could be marketed to the type of individual that frequents these types of websites will work. Myrm needs to find those niche items. Food... Soda.. Energy drinks... MJ delivery services... Computer chairs with built in bedpans... Tutorial services... As seen on TV products... Virus repair programs.... The possibilities are endless. Just base it on the end user's cache. You just need to know your customer base that you are marketing to. If I had to venture a guess, this customer base(TI) is a large proportion of male, between the ages of 18-29. Sure, a few are on the fringes(12-17 and 30+). They obviously play a video games on the internet. Which draws you to a few other conclusions. They have access to a computer and Internet and may have a disposible income. What Myrm needs to understand, and he may, is that TI has more "guests" online at a time than it does actual members.
I am sure people on here are fully aware of the Billions of dollars that goes into marketing and research each year into a product before it even gets put on a shelf. But you all don't even know the half of it. Not only is the product marketed and studied, but the consumer is studied as well. Before and after product release, in anticipation for the next product release.

Idk man that seems like common knowledge. Maybe that's just me.

Is the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon common knowledge?
Check your PM please...

I was unaware there was a name for that, I just called it being interested, found some nice reads tho.

"Social proofing" is another concept that comes to mind quite quickly that happens here on TI. I have even mentioned it on a few occasions. Now that it is August, I can freely speak of it.
Consumers are swayed more than they realize.

just a few things that immediately stood out to me

Are you posting in regards to the twinkcup or Twinkinfo?

I'm not sure how any of this conflicts with what I said. Were talking about things that pertain too a website, not in game stuff.

This website contains discussion and presentation of all of these things.

I should re-iterate

As long as Myrm is at the head of TI it will be in line with all the WoW ToS things that are relevant to the progress of our community. The only things in the ToS that have really gotten in the way so far are private servers, account sales, the previous state of the AH section, and inappropriate tournament team names.

Blizzards expectations are not so unreasonable as your quotes make them out to be, and I think you know that, they won't not promote the twinkcup because someones forum name who isn't in the tournament sounds like a celebrity.

What about companies like Razer or Newegg.com? Companies that are in the business of having gamers or computer users as their customers? I would think a site like this would be a good advertising investment for such companies.
As an example, my desktop was built completely from Newegg.com, and my mouse and pad are Razer products.
