Best place to farm Blackvenom Blade?

I should point out it does also come from Garrison Salvage Crates.
I decided I wanted a rogue about 2 weeks ago. So, I hopped servers until I found a BvB on the AH. Luckily the seller was online. I talked him into a better deal (for me), asked him to hold it for a maximum of 5 days, then bought & sold coins on the AH to acquire gold on this random server. I met up with him within a few days & bought it from him. I asked where he got it, and he said it was from a Salvage Crate on his main. I don't know the stats on the chances of this happening and I don't want to... That is some serious luck. I COULD have farmed boxes for it but I went with the mentality that a few hours of OT at work to cover the costs involved in purchasing it would be better spent than potentially several weeks of game-time farming a mundane instance..
Fortunately for me I also acquired a Gloomshroud a few days prior from someone else ( on the server I twink on ). Happy days.

The standard deviation on the probabilities is relatively low due to the required number of trials so luck (variance) isn't a huge factor in this case. While it's possible you won't get it after 100,000 boxes, its EXTREMELY unlikely - go buy a lottery ticket at that point.
 
Let me teach you something guys.

Go pickpocket all the mobs in instance, go to start but don't exit the instance, don't reset. Just wait around 7 mins(timer for the pickpocket to reset), go again and pickpocket all mobs/ repeat.

That's how i did it, you're welcome ;)

Ps: there's even an addon for the pickpocket reset timer, PickPocketTimer is called. Google it.
 
3 minutes full clear + 7 minutes downtime = 6 clears/hour (between 70 and 90 boxes i guess)
instead of a full lockout, at very least 100 boxes in 30 minutes, i even looted 18 boxes in a single run sometimes

someone recommended Zul'Kunda while waiting for the lockout expires, i'll test it later

Well i'm no the kind of guy that likes to waste time switching between locations. I'd rather rest my fingers for 7 mins downtime instead of pressing keys non-stop.
 
done testing STV spots
the easy way farming:

having 2 WoW licenses with 1 40+ rogue on each and cleaning stockades
between 240-360 boxes hour

system > interface > controls
uncheck "open loot windown at mouse" so the loot wont open above mobs
check auto loot
mouseover pickpocket macro and glyph of pickpocket

this way you can pickpocket a group of 4 mobs in 1 second



farming with a single rogue
doing on a 44, but its better with 60+ for BoS

clean stockades till lockout then head to STV

follow this route:

blue = some venture co. miners
green = some murlocks
red = ton of trolls, better drop rate than mobs on duskwood and less people questing there

200-250 boxes hour


this is the best i've made so far, i'd buy the dagger with tokens and transfer, if they didnt cost 65 R$ each on my region


EDIT: i'll try this then:
full clear 9 stockades, on the 10 try i just sit there and wait for the pockets reset, the drop % from stockade is better than any other place (edit: not that good, limited to 3 runs before lockout expires)

EDIT2: tried gnomeregan, really big spot specially for hordes who dont have access to stockades, box drops around 140-160 hour (way higher if you have 60+ with BoS), doesnt get lockout, pickpocket every troggs/gnomes on the way (you can pickpocket those slimes too) to crowd pummeler and leaves from the portal near his room, reset and do the way back to the main portal

avoid dark iron agents, they give worn junkbox

been farming at least 4 lockouts/day for 5 days and have not seen i single blue dagger yet
ive tested gnomeregan on a 90 rogue to see how much boxes o could get in 10 minutes and got one assassin's blade, sadly it wasnt on the same server of my twinks, anyway o dropped one from sfk
 
There was an older thread about BvB in which I was providing info on how to get it ,the fastest way. It;s funny how people still trying to farm it as of WoD!

You can theoretically run to the nth term and never ever see a drop.
There's never a 100% chance with these kinds of things.
