A Vision of Moderation

On this new website it is my goal to avoid many of the issues our community has encountered on other platforms. Those issues were structural, as well as systematic, and by that I mean the literal forum structure was a contributing factor to the way discourse was promoted, and the CoC was a lie in itself, and the moderation was misguided by it. On this new website we will not have a CoC, we will have a vision that moderators enforce, this vision is simple:

Being able to achieve a steady revenue flow from ads is our top priority, and we already have a trusted accountant ready to take on the burden. In order to achieve this, the website must be kept family friendly. It is my hope that this will be temporary, but until we are further down that path we can not be certain.

Regardless, XPOff must be a place that all people interested in this elite-competitive playstyle feel welcome to compete and participate in. I'm sorry if this goes against how you like to behave, and the last thing I want to do is to restrict a persons individuality. We have many other chats that we are very active on Curse where you are more than welcome to express those views. This is not twinkinfo, and the value here is the user content, not the trolly posts.

Scamming members anywhere on XPOff will result in being permanently removed from the website if sufficient evidence is supplied.

We have promoted the following moderators for now: Dorigon, Broken, Burg, Nighthour, Mutando, Valencia and Laurasia. They have all been given the job of enforcing this vision on our website.

Please note that moderators do not have the ability to enter private groups without being given access by the group owner or a group appointed staff member.

We maintain the right to adjust these terms at any point if deemed necessary.

Are ads even generating significant revenue, if any at all? Doesn`t everyone and their mothers and grandmothers have an adblock already?

As it now stands XPOff is much worse than TI. So all of this was just a lie? The site had a good start up till the merger with TI like alley also already said and is sinking lower then TI ever was and totally not family friendly with all the foul words. Maby its better to have a COC because this site is not living up to its vision.

Untill then, I am out. So no more trying to give players information, no more promotion ingame and through the official wow website. It is a waste of time trying to make something out of this site when the staff is not on one line and work with this vision. I am sorry Conq, but this vision is just nonsense seeing the site in its current form. I would not recommend anyone to go to this toxic site at all.

Just a small question for any of the staff members.

How many of the 26,933 registered users are actually active? Don't you people ask yourself about the hows and whys the majority of these aren't here on XPOff and former Tinkeringinfo anymore and what to do to get them back and tune this place to flowers and sunshine again?

There has always been a divide where some people want the site to be more moderated and some people want the site to be less moderated. It's impossible to make everyone happy. I would just suggest that everyone can help out by reporting problematic posts. That will bring issues to the staff's attention.

Certain individuals are still very toxic yes but if you ask me xpoff is by far less toxic then TI was. All you saw on TI was drama and pointless threads.. Now theres less

Callout threads and shittalking is what partially keeps this site alive

Lets face it, SOME drama is good for activity. Once things become TOO toxic, they stop being beneficial.

Drama used to be guild vs guild, but now that everybody plays for everybody's guild, its more so becomes childish individuals vs childish individuals.

Yeah, I can see that.

I have not received any death threats yet. So it can't be all that bad.
I do get insults each and every day.
As for post reporting, I was once told that I was the most reported user in TI's history. However, I will not ever report a negative post against me unless it is for the reason above, a death threat. It just is not my style. After all, why would I want to get any of these people, some of which I have known for eight years, in trouble? They are sort of like, dare I say it, (cough)my friends(cough).
Plus my Mommy always told me to tell bullies-
"Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!!"
Insults are easily ignored.


Ultimately it is up to the administration to keep the users hemmed in. Whether it is for language or insults or whatever. None of this would be allowed on MMO-Champion. Much of this should not be allowed here if XPoff plans on growing and prospering.
