Bracket Managers Explained More Clearly

I died once in the video, I fail to see why this would lead you to assume I would die for 25 mins straight, I certainly wouldn't waste my time doing that. I feel kind of bad you remember the game (I don't), I hope you manage to get more important things to think about.

I feel like Dorigon is the type of person who would find that hilarious. That's probably why he remembers it.

Ha. This reminds me of when I was promoted to Moderator after having less than 300 posts. People threw a fit because I didn't have enough posts to be a moderator they said. If it wasn't for the team I worked with and me this site would likely not have made it when the owner at the time was MIA. People are always going to find a reason to complain no matter the decision and second-guess the leadership...especially in the context of this narcissistic breeding ground we call World of Warcraft.

Stavie, Yde, and whoever else is getting flak here: Screw what the forum idiots think. Don't give in to them just because they're outspoken complainers. Good leaders lead in the face of adversity...bad ones give in to the complainers. From my brief visits to the site these days you guys seem to be doing a good job. Thanks for keeping the community going.

Notice how everyone is mad about Stavie being bracket manager but not one person has complained about Paladinlol or Flop or whatver he is in-game now (Dartofblue on twinkinfo). It's not that people are trying to find a reason to complain, otherwise people would be complaining about Dartofblue as well. Your reasoning is invalid.

You're making my point...and at the same time saying my reasoning is invalid. People are always going to complain about everything. Nearly every decision I ever made here as a Mod or as the Admin garnered complaints. But as leaders we lead in the direction we think things should go. Sometimes we're wrong, but many times we keep things going just fine with our decisions that people complain about (and swear the site is going downhill).

Why so many complaints? Well: 1. everybody is a critic in this day and age 2. this is the internet 3. this is a WoW related site 4. both attract a lot of teenagers and late bloomers (you know the 20 somethings that still live at home and haven't grown up) that have issues with authority (though not all teens have authority issues mind you). And we're surprised people are complaining about leadership here? Lol...if you don't like it you got 2 choices: suck it up or go make your own twink site!

You might be too new to have heard the famous Drayner (the guy who created Twink Info) line: "This ain't a democracy" (or something close) when he had people complaining about how he ran the site. Since then there's been 2 owners and 7 Admins and this site is still doing just fine. Have a little faith in your leadership or stop coming here.

You didn't understand a word he wrote, did you?

I always thought a bracket manager would be someone who manages the bracket and help get it more active, perhaps things like organising events etc? If not then the name 'bracket manager' is somewhat misleading, it was originally 'community leader' which certainly sounded like someone more heavily intwined in the bracket itself.

maybe change the name to 'bracket moderator' if they arnt here to be involved in the community but be a casual twinker who merely watches over there section

So if I'm reading this correctly, if there is legitimate complaints, ignore them because the leaders will do the right things and the Internet is just teenagers and people with authority issues?

Have there been any legitimate complaints about Stavie?

The complaints regarding stavie were unjust but I believe it is mis communication about wat a bracket manager really does, which isn't manage a bracket, encourage twinking, organise events etc. but simply to moderate blindlessly with little interaction with the community. When it was community leader we expected a fair amount of integration within the community by the leader.

i just think it should just be changed to bracket moderator since it is somewhat misleading.

I was thinking Forum Manager.

Bracket Moderator is a good one too.

We should be running this site.

According to Hurrx's poll you are winning and people want to see you as a bracket manager.

Rather irrelevant. :) But I agree, discussion has run its course.
