No...I think you misunderstood me. I said I went in as a 10 twink with exp on...as in not using the exploit and just afked out. It's easy, just make sure your team doesn't cap. Trying to drag the game on as long as you possibly can, hence racking up your kills. Between the deserter debuff I would just play on my main, another 10 twink and do dailies. My 10 isn't my only character. Believe it or not, people can find something to occupy themselves for 15 minutes whether real life, another game or playing a different character.
Understood. When I said "as an XP-off caliber twink", I meant that you likely had a near-BiS 10 when doing your HK farming. I didn't mean you were exploiting.
I know you probably weren't trying to come off as an ass, but it is that way because you didn't even express sympathy to Caitie. You came in here to debate about the glitch and pretty much saying "Oh, it was just a 10. Get over it." I see you like twinks of all brackets judging by your signature. I don't come into, say, the 39 or 49 twink bracket and start bashing on your game nights.
Good point. I went right to my question about why Caitie would enjoy the kind of games that Caitie got to attain 10K HKs, without acknowledging Caitie's loss, and then I badly framed my question. That would definitely cause a stink.
Caitie, my apologies for your loss, and for my behavior. You clearly made a major investment at 10. To suddenly find yourself at 11 can feel like it's all over for that toon. But 11 actually brings an interesting alternative. I think Bankbeauty made a thread about rogues at 11 somewhere around here; I'll just throw out some gear comparisons.
Besides the Stendel ring (x2) that others mentioned, the Hunting Pants can help you toward hit cap, freeing up another slot or enchantment for higher stats. 3/3 Lupine Handwraps of the Monkey gets you +1 compared to what 10 rogues typically use as gloves, as do the Feral Bindings over your current bracers. In all, your crit stays almost the same, and your increased damage by going to 11 will more than make up for the remaining 1.3% crit gap.
As a rogue, it seems to me that you're at least as well off at 11 as you are at 10, if not better when you consider some intangibles like slightly better stealth detection (and detection avoidance vs. 10s) and slightly higher burst.
Far from over, your life could be just beginning.
