Explains why this video is shit and so is their "support" group.

Anyone who support this is stupid. Why don't you read up before you start talking? I guess people are either to lazy or to naive.

Just google and you will see that this things is a waste of time and money. Did you know only 30% of the money goes to those who needs it?

Did you know only 30% of the money goes to those who needs it?

Did you know this isn't uncommon in American charities?

The real problem is that much of that 30% is going towards lobbying the us congress for a military intervention in the area

I don't know a lot of people saying what he's doing is right.

What we're saying is that, first of all, the way of propaganda is more then wrong it's just plain retarded and secondly there's millions of other causes that you could donate to, but don't give a shit about them because you don't know them. Now you learned about Kony, now the world want him down. But the fact that millions are dieing in lack of food all around the world or the thousands of sex-slave in russia, that you don't give a single damn. You go to bed, think about Kony, forget about the others.

We all know there are many evils in this world, but whether this cause is more important than any other was not my point. I have my own things I support, and no I have not donated to this one, and you have yours. My point was besides all that if people want to support this cause, or that cause, or none at all is none of our concern. Verbally bashing someone for helping others, no matter their motives or who they are trying to help, is wrong.

on topic:
Watching that Kony video is essentially watching old news. They started filming the final sequences in 2003, and northern Uganda has been free of LRA violence and war for over five years. The Invisible Children group are trying to pass a bill that allows America to occupy and militarize the region. They are providing misinformation to attract idealistic followers. The group have combined multiple regional conflicts to make it appear that this is one rapidly increasing issue, which it clearly is not. The recruitment of children is down 80%, that's great but that's not because of Invisible Children, that's because Ugandan military and the ICC have intercepted.

Ask yourself whether this is actually something that's worth making a priority over all matters of national security.

It would take our country all of one day to track down a man and stop him.
you know, you're right....oh wait, how long did it take to track down osama, saddam, etc.
so shut up

But that gives no one the right to speak out against someone who despite not having to do something is doing something no matter what their motives are.
i tried reading this several times and it never made sense. all i can say is free speech. people have every right to speak out against idiots who spread stupid videos, just like those idiots have every right to keep being dumb

LAWL no such thing. move on

Imagine what we could do if all the WoW players worldwide tried to do something. 11 million people.

But, it's not gonna happen.

Exactly, your point is moot.

Ok I wanted to make a post about this because everyone on fb is jumping on this "kony 2012" bandwagon, blindly, without looking at the real facts which is worrying.

For starters, do not donate anything-not your time, not your money, not a click of your mouse-to this 'movement'. Don't be fooled by clever movie editing; the U.S government are conning you nicely. This is all a ploy to get a military base in Uganda. Research AFRICOM (there's loads on YouTube about it) it's the US and other western countries way of worming their military into Africa with a camouflage of 'protecting the African people'. What they're really doing is using their imperial power to exploit the resources and materials of the continent. This is to be in competition with China who has good relations with Africa.

AFRICOM has been aware of the oil in Uganda for a long time:

So by using "kony2012" as an excuse, the U.S will do to Africa what they've done to the middle east.

On top of all of this, Kony has not even been in Uganda for the last 6 years. Since the video was made ( 2003) Uganda has stopped experiencing the magnitude of violence shown by the LRA. Kony and his troops have been forced into the Congo and pushed into the Garamba National Rainforest there. He's weak because the Uganda People's Defense Force have defeated him and he's now sitting in a forest starving to death. Ever since march of 2002, the UPDF have been carrying out raids on the LRA and have freed many child soldiers and sex slaves and brought them home to their families. Of course, there hasn't been complete peace as the LRA fought back, but since 2004 the Ugandan government (as corrupt as it is) has been beating and slowly defeating the LRA.

So basically this Kony2012 vid is years old, with information in it that's not current. People will still argue though "why you hatin they're collecting money for the Ugandans". Nope. The CEO's of the charity admitted themselves that only 31%of all the funds they receive actually go towards helping anyone in Uganda. In fact, they use the money to pay for their flights to Africa and for their fancy filming. Last year alone the 3 CEO's of this movement spent over $1 million on their travel expenses. On top of this, they refuse to let their financials be independently audited, which is dodgy for an 'honest' humanitarian cause. So overall, this faux activist movement is more of a social experiment and distraction 1. From the massacres happening in the middle east, and 2. A justification for having more American military in Africa.

Still, this doesn't mean that the conflict and suffering in Uganda is over. The government is still corrupt, there's still people living in fear in IDF camps, the education system is not sufficient and not many get to even go to school. All I'm saying is, the Ugandans need more than a group of young people getting together one night and putting up posters around their city of a man whose sitting in the jungle crying cause he's got no food. There is just no point. It is a distraction and a clever ploy.
If you really wanna help the Ugandans, there are trusted charities that send real aid and help to the people. You can get all the info on them here if you'd really like to donate:

So the next time an activist trend explodes onto the web, be sure to do your research before jumping onto the bandwagon.
