Healer for US39, Priest or Paladin?

Hi, I'm looking to roll a 39, and I think I'm going to be rolling a healer (this is for Alliance side). I'm trying to decide between a Priest and a Paladin. Perhaps this isn't a question with a clean cut answer, but in general which of those two classes is least represented? I know class stacking can be a problem at times, and I'd like to try and avoid that without gimping my team by rolling something obscure like a Restoration Druid. Any feedback would be appreciated 8)

As a Disc Priest, you can get pretty dang close to 400 SP which makes your bubbles absorb almost 1.3k dmg which is one of the most OP things in the 39 bracket. Your mana will be well over 5k without any problems, the only thing you might struggle with is getting over 3k hp unbuffed(as long as you can get to 3k hp with rum ur fine). A lot of people play Disc Priests because they can easily protect a huge group of people without fail. It's arguable that disc priests are the strongest healers in the 39 bracket. Taking damage isn't a problem for a disc priest.

As a Holy paladin, you don't need very much SP, anything past 305 SP should be better spent in Stam/health. Your heals already are OP from being a paladin alone, FoL heals for well over 1.5k when u crit even if your undergeared. I've even managed to get a Heal crit for 1.9k with only 285 SP(Wasn't paying attention at the time if it was WoG or FoL). Most Holy Paladins should focus more on Survival than getting bigger healing numbers since their heals are already decent enough to counter a few DPS. Taking damage isn't a problem for a holy paladin.

As far as picking between the two. They are both great healers, it really depends on what your leaning more to. If your leaning more being the most Overpowered Healer, then i'd go Disc. But if your looking towards more of the most unseen healers, go with a holy paladin. they are both good, but there are definitely more disc priests than holy paladins nowadays.

EDIT: I was wrong about disc priests, you will find yourself getting CLOSE TO 5k and around 350ish SP. :p

Ty for the feedback. I have a little experience with both classes (outside of twink games, I've never twinked before), and enjoy both. Not really looking to be OP or anything, I assumed if I went Priest I'd go Holy =/

I guess I was kind of leaning more towards a Paladin and going Holy/Prot, but I've been reading the WoW forums lately and there seems to be a ton of Alliance Paladins posting. I know you said that Holy Paladins are some of the most unseen healers, I just wanted to make sure it was safe before rolling one. Is it just a coincidence that there are a lot of Paladins posting, or do the Alliance have too many Paladins?
