Voted yes, too much has been rendered obsolete with the df xpac. But I do agree with archiving it just in case. So many of my 20s awesome stuff is now rather weak :( good bye epic cudgel :(

I know it's a lot of work to be doing, but I'd like to also ask if you can rekindle the "f2p/vet farming friends" thread too, looks dead and necrotic. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

This site makes it easier to group up then joining a million communities through battle.net that are not active anymore. Like the 19. The 20-29 and the 39 retail communites. Or another discord server that i DONT need on my list.

Unless you know someone youre kinda screwed.

The "communites" ive joined except for GS were i still have to lvl have all been dead except lifes.

This is more a lack of active interest in an existing thread, rather than some problem with forum infrastructure. Farming Friends was never particularly popular, as people used in game communities and discords to organize farming groups.
Guess that makes sense, tried to use discord and join the twink community but I just cannot comprehend nor understand discord. Never used it before and im struggling with it for a bit.+What Ikaar said, if you don't have anyone rn you're screwed. There was one guy who helped me out a year ago, Mahvet whom I came across with at the farming friends thread. But he hasn't talked to me for 8 months now so im just a sitting duck here watching, wandering and waiting.

I would be curious as to how many people on that farming friends thread actually are still playing f2p/20s in general. Someone else can start a new one of those threads if they care to, admittedly I've done a shit job maintaining that list because I personally haven't used it much. Was unaware anyone else used it either.

My man you have no idea how that thread created the most genuine and wholesome experience i ever had playing WoW. Meeting with Mahvet and running tbc dungeons and farming them old Blade's Edge Mountain sockets (pre nerf) was the only reason why i still come back here. Hoping I can see him active again.

i feel that you guys should make a completely new category, move all old shadowlands posts into an archive and keep all the useful/community posts (kinda like what happened with bfa but keep some guides bc there is some useful shit). there’s a lot of wrong information that are simply outdated which is a problem with keeping all the old sl posts and rebranding. To a new user, they won’t know that there is gonna be information that’s outdated by an expansion. It’s a very plausible scenario that somebody new/returning, comes to xpoff for 20s information, goes through the 20s DF category, gathers information that is outdated, then wastes their time trying to use outdated information.
Archiving sl and making df a new section will completely remove this scenario from ever possibly happening. It also will help with bloat (125+ page list aware), and will remove confusion overall. In a couple months from now, if I wanted to check if a post in this forum was from shadowlands I’d have to start checking dates. If shadowlands was archived, i dont have to worry that maybe the thread I’m reading is outdated. All the outdated posts are archived and separated, all the new/useful posts are in this category. For the opposite scenario the merge will cause confusion. If I want to find posts from sl, I will have to start checking dates and shit. If I want to find threads from
Bfa it’s as simple as going to the bfa archive. If you archive sl, there would be nearly no effort in trying to find posts from sl. How the system is now it doesn’t really matter (you can tell easily), but in the future it will be a growing pain. There could be a problem in the future where theres too many archive categories, but that can be easily fixed by having an Archive category with sub categories of the individual expansions.
