70 vs 79

Wondering what thoughts are about the two different levels. I'm planning on making a 70 hunter and 79 DK. Will 70s even be viable in BGs with 79s?

From what I'm seeing in the warrior thread, the brutal glad gear is not all that much worse in resilience. Raw stats it differs, but ilvls 159 vs like 187? For most of the stuff? Pretty sure at 70 your secondary stats would be incredible vs 79...

I dont have either at the moment, and 78-9 is just plain easier to up and start fresh unless you just go for brutal at 70.

SWP gear is "better" but without any resilience might fall behind, not sure. I'm sure 70 will be strong, but maybe squishy? I know there was some crazy numbers from resilience in one of the xpacs, may have been MoP tho. I'm curious to learn too.

It’s wrath, 70s scale well with resilience and secondary’s where 79 does not, making the best healers for bgs 70 healers with 900 resil. Legit almost unkillable
[doublepost=1662768649,1662768578][/doublepost]I know I’ll only be playing my 70s, they for sure can hold their own in the bracket, some classes better than others obviously

for healing, 70 is better no questions

- less mana cost for spells
- same mana regen from professions from a 79 (alchemy / tailoring) you get more value per proc of cloak or mana potion
- the same scaling of tbc but with access to WOTLK gems - increases almost 25% of a specific target stat - in this case, resilience
- can use resilience flask

even DPS classes are worth for 70s but you will need anything higher than 12% hit rating (which you can get with 4 to 6 hit rating gems and/or using 3 socket heads)

I particularly am going to twink at level 72 which can take the best of the 2 worlds
- a little bit less secondary stat % compared to 70, almost 2% reduction in crit / haste / hit / physical reduction
- less hit rating needed, you can have anything 9% or higher
- can use engineering googles which compensates for the loss of stats
- 2 more talent points and higher hp pool

no casters are worth doing that, if you are going to be a caster you need 79 as spells hit are calculated differently and melee speels that miss usually don't trigger resource loss (for dks, rogues and feral druids)
all MDPS are worth using this strategy:

warriors / paladins / feral druids / Dks / Hunters

here is a video from me in 2017 healing as a level 70 druid

The most resilience I could get on an eightysupgrade 70 priest was 680, which is 15% reduced crit chance, 15% reduced player damage, 30% reduced crit damage and mana drain. This was using a pvp medallion for the 45 resilience.

10800 hp 11800 mana 973 spell power 15% resilience 20% crit (3% from Focused Will) and 20% haste (6% from Enlightenment)

This is using the 16 resilience gems. The 20 resilience gems are from phase 3. That will bump it up to 744 resilience, which is 16.4%.
You wouldn't drop engineering for blacksmith to get 2 more gems would you? That would get you to 784 resilience, 17.3%. I'm not sure how it could get any higher.

Definitely, a resilience stacked 70 will take damage better. Stacking all that resilience will lower their output a bit. A 79 will pass it in spell power and spell ranks while having about 50% more hp. I'd say they have their pros and cons, with 70 having a slight edge by being unlikely to get RNG crit to death.

30% reduced crit damage's almost at the softcap btw (33% is; past that resilience will only give you crit chance and player damage reduction, but no more crit damage reduction anymore), which is really high & powerful

a fully 650+ resilience stacked 70s take less damage than a level 80 with 1800 resilience - you can measure like that, you will receive less damage from the level 80s than the 80s healers themselves, it's very overpowered

A full 79 twink is for sure better than a 70. But I made a full Brutal 70 blood DK stam stacked with 17k hp, 2700+ AP, 34% crit, unbuffed. In AV I hit 29k hp with full buffs and I destroy. In the 70-79 brackets I destroyed too for the most part, only went up against a couple geared 79s that could take me. Topped damage and kills or got close on like 10 games. A similar 79 blood dk with 20% more hp than me took about 2 min to kill me. I killled TONS of red high levels in AB, EOTS and WSG. They were not twinks, but no match for me. The 70 didn't feel like it was missing or not doing much damage against those huntards and mages and priests that were 6 to 9 levels higher than me. But a stam stacked blood DK is full retard, worse than a huntard. Was one shotting lowbies in AV.

My full brutal 70 boomkin doesn't seem to last like the DK does, still a lot of fun in the 70-79 brackets. Hard to kill DKs etc.
