Dragonflight Stat Squish

aimed shot go brrrr

Not on me, fury actually has a decent shield wall now (10-sec duration enraged regen) and a last stand.

Also prot has 3.5k hp outside of bgs unbuffed, two last stands, an on-use heal and ignore pain that scales with AP+Max health.

Aimed shot tickles

I don't se why this squish is so bad as everyone thinks. If it's all items for all of us, its not gonna destroy pvp in any way. And for PvE it's only good to get abit more challenge. Can literally pull a hole dungeon with bosses on my 20 protpala. Was never ment to be that way. And for anyone that don't like pve challenges it might just be good to farm any dungeon items you want before prepatch.

Generally, from a pvp perspective, if everyone’s gear doesn’t matter or barely matters, it’s going to come down to available abilities and unfortunately class/spec scaling and spec auras.

this really got going in legion and has been present to some degree ever since.

I guess we won’t know until actual pvp takes place but I don’t see how things will change or improve for 20s in the current xp disabled bracket they’re in.

I just personally like gear to be the biggest part of the equation when twinking, which is probably an uncommon mindset these days

That's just bait to get you to buy the xpac and then BOOM! the ol' switch of you lose all that and hunter gets 20% buff.

If it's all items for all of us, its not gonna destroy pvp in any way.

Except it generally means that the strongest classes/specs remain overpowering with no way to close the gap... i.e. even noob hunters are super-effective because you cannot even outgear the imbalance of the damage/toolkit.

When you cant even combat the skill floor with good gear it makes for an imbalanced and less enjoyable PvP overall.

edit- puts everything solely on Blizz and class balance which, let's face it.... lawl.

Just means more people have to learn how to heal good. I'm sure rogues, ww monks, mages, warlocks, rets and warriors will still be good aswell.
[doublepost=1662801567,1662801247][/doublepost]Otherwise we just have to que 5 rogues premades and gank hunters until people start playing other classes. Hunters was always super strong in every twink bracket I ever played in. And we survived! Don't we afraid of adapting. That's the life of a twink!

i think blizzard got the whole scaling wrong on gear level 10-50. squish was done in a rush and never done right. look at start of SL when there was talk of insta gearing with 20's buying gear off Geras in Shattrah, blizz pissed their pants, i think at first changed to req lvl 27 (now 30). for example not a drastic difference, then we had a time to farm ilvl-28 gear with beefier stats, that can proc socket and tert stat

amani helm 3 sockets (req lvl 30)
8 str
9 sta
9 crit

hope bearer helm 3 sockets @lvl 20 from normal dungeon
6 str
10 sta
13 crit

@27
8 str
12 stam
16 crit (herioc epic has 17 crit)

yet a original 70 squished to 27 can't buy from vendors, do heriocs or raids, blizz has made BC content and gear effectively WOTLK required level content. the difference between normal and herioc is so slight

i recently used a token on my unsub'd account i last played for 30 days in BFA. using TW to get some players from 50 to 60, i was noticing alot of trinkets even at 40 are not much better or are crap compared to what we get in just normal dungeons when doing tmog farm in WOD raids, and was really unimpressed with the values and scaling.

i took a 20 never started on gearing and leveled to 50 for the heritage armor set to that race, i hopped chromie times and at times for dungeons blizz but me in other times. scaling of gear from 35 to 50 was not drastic. would see rings i had in the 30s still better than rings i looted from 40-50.

Touch of karma go boing. Either that or roll+incap/stun at the right time. There's a lot of anti aimed shot buttons now for a lot of specs compared to sl
How hard are rising sun kicks hitting for? That 70% dmg boost looks wild, my 20 monk ripped. I'm curious about 29 with all that utility

RSK...

Monk felt sooooo much better past 20, but I never did play it in a BG. But anyone who likes the class at 20 would love it at 29 once all this "killing the bracket" stuff gets ironed out. Assuming ever. Or they dont wreck it in DF.

From mid-August on Michael, a 29 mistweaver's RSK:

From the DF calculator, I think 29's can only get 1 of 2 points into Fast Feet. So 35% damage increase? (wowhead calculator tooltip not working on Fast Feet)

Wowhead posted an article detailing the stat squish and noted that nothing has currently been done to monster health / stats in the current iteration of the squish, implying it will be lowered eventually. They've implied that once the changes are fully implemented, nothing should feel different than before and it will just be the normal type of stat squish we get almost every expansion. I hope these implications are correct so I can go back to grinding dungeons forever and ever.

https://www.wowhead.com/news/possib...n-dragonflight-smoother-scaling-from-1-328797

"Note that this should not stay this way for long. As soon as Blizzard finishes polishing the item level scaling, the change should be mostly invisible, as in, it will take you the same time to kill an enemy given the same level in Dragonflight as in Shadowlands."

" The reduction in stats on pieces of gear happens due to the new item level allocation. For instance, in Shadowlands, a level 30 will receive item level 35 gear from quest rewards. In Dragonflight, this item level 35 gear is intended for level 17 characters instead. In both Shadowlands and Dragonflight, this piece of gear is intended to give 1% critical strike, for instance, which, in Shadowlands, is 12 crit rating for a level 30 character, but only 5 rating for a level 17 character, which is the target in Dragonflight, thus the same item at the same item level will have different stats when comparing live with beta. "

Hmm.... so we're getting a 'buff' to gear? Hopefully this will mean that our existing gear will reflect this change, instead of having to go back & geet every last peice we're wearing.

9/12/22 thread: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/stat-squish-for-legacy-content/1335024

Kaivax: "We are not doing a squish. The overall goal is for player-characters who are at level 60 today to log in at level 60 in Dragonflight with the same item level and approximately the same stats as they had before.

What we are doing: rescaling Chromie Time. In Dragonflight, Chromie Time now stretches from 10-60, so that players can choose which expansion they’d like to level in, and they can stick with that all the way to Dragonflight if they choose to.

So that’s going to require that we change some iLvls within that range to make it a smooth experience, but the endpoint isn’t changing.

There are definitely some bugs with this on the Dragonflight Beta and the PTR, such as your heirlooms, and we’re going to fix them up."
