Dragonflight Stat Squish

Got BETA access, did some quick testing.

My warrior's stats on BETA:

2200-2400 HP

(22% haste during Enrage)

With haste weapons (no haste trinkets)

I can crit above 1k rather easily as arms.

Base movement speed as arms now (10% from talent)

On soloing dungeons as a warrior:

Arms and Fury can both solo packs of Elite mobs. You take a lot of damage but have just enough mitigation to beat 3-4 mobs.

Protection is easily the way to go for soloing however, as you have a health pool of 5k (3.5k base, 1500+ from last stands) and your mitigation is insane.

Armor seems to matter now. At least in PvE.

Arms/fury has about 80 armor.
Protection has 290-320 armor.

Protection therefore takes literally over 30-40% less damage from physical attacks in PvE.

Shield Block also makes you block over half the damage you take.

This means that Tank specs (or at least warriors) can mitigate 75% of all physical damage they take with just wearing plate armor and a shield.

To answer a question for the solo-ers amongst us: Yes, I can solo groups of elite mobs in dungeons. Yes, I can solo bosses. Yes, it takes a really long time because prot damage isn't super high (600 max crits).

Damage and mitigation on regular Elite mobs:

Damage and mitigation on Bosses:

Crusader and Touch of the Grave will outheal you already, but you also still have your belt potion and Impending Victory.

Arms and Fury aren't so lucky due to missing so much armor.

Here's the damage regular elites deal on a dps:

And bosses:

It takes really long to solo bosses as Protection however, as they have 42k+ health.

Other random things:

-Double tertiary items still have double tertiaries.

-Furbolg Medicine Pouch still doesn't heal.

this squish makes items with huge socket bonuses way better than before. for example this item is now very very good for haste/vers stackers.

https://www.wowhead.com/beta/item=37684/forgotten-shadow-hood?bonus=6710&ilvl=34

compare it with:

https://www.wowhead.com/beta/item=35010/brutal-gladiators-felweave-cowl

on live it's not even the same tier

https://www.wowhead.com/item=37684/forgotten-shadow-hood?bonus=6710&ilvl=34

compare it with:

https://www.wowhead.com/item=35010/brutal-gladiators-felweave-cowl

edit:

https://www.wowhead.com/beta/item=1168/skullflame-shield&ilvl=32

and

https://www.wowhead.com/beta/item=13505&ilvl=35

will continue to be OP because their effects scale with primary stat, which will be less, but the health pools of all players will also be less.

the gap between 20 and 29 is now much much less than before.

I want to express my disagreement with this statement and caution anyone to think for themselves before thinking that 20s and 29s will be on any reasonable equal footing.

The gap is the same just both got a 60% chunk removed. 29s will likely scale better with tert stats now too. Not to mention that abilities will matter so much more now.

stop trying to bait 20s lol

Somehow my lv17 char has heirlooms scale better than lv25??

Gems aren't nerfed . Gear base stats difference is now less than half of what it was before. Now aggregate those two.

How can claiming the gap getting smaller (factual) be equivalent to "baiting" 20s into playing 29?

I was hoping to do solo dungeons with a class that's NOT a Hunter. This all worries me a bit.

I don't want to go FULL doom and gloom yet, but if I can't do solo dungeon content reasonably with a non-hunter class this expansion, I won't be returning. Doing dungeons was my favorite thing :(

Lower damage profiles for players but a 42k HP pool for bosses... I'd love it if the squish made soloing dungeons a fun challenge, but it'll probably just be too tedious to bother. Every boss will feel like soloing the darkmoon rabbit. :SadgeW:

Will 20s gets "stats bumped" to 29s in bgs? If so, how close/far compare to 29s gear? I understand its early to definitive say. Haven't played in the new bracket system, so I have no reference point to how "bad" the scaling are right now.

Given the stats squish, TBC gears may be better than before as the gems aren't squished AND that tert on BOE is also nerfed. Sell your i28/i37 before DF...

this sounds bad lolololol .. i had over 400 full sets of ilvl28 for hunters of which about 100+ sets are socketed ones .. and i have at least 200 full set of unsocketed ilvl37 for my 29s (i didnt know blizz plan to make xpoff 29 playable), but these were collected a year ago .. think they are all going into the bin again .. blizz is forever doing these stunts

hard to nerf gems which are mostly onlyy +1+1 .. only a couple usable at 10-29s are +2+2 .. cant nerf them to +0+0

all these changes to the stats figures .. did it really change the dmg output ? or they just reduced the stats ? when they did that the last time, a low HP say 1k hunter can still take down a say 50k boss easily .. i am just giving an example, because i ran around not worrying about the HP of mobs and bosses and not even worrying about my own HP .. can it be, they reduced the stats figure, but now each point should give you the exact or near to what it was ? if the reduction is proportionate to the dmg output .. then it would mean a previous aim shot which is 1k will be down to 300 ? sorry i am not in testing beta, i dont have an idea whats going on

it's pretty clear to me that PvP will be less bursty, but of course, I could be wrong because i am just making an educated guess based on my intuition and the gear numbers i have seen so far.
