60s and 69s in Wrath

If it was my mage, I apologize. Recently switched over to my 69 mage since the DKs are all getting closer to 69 and a bit more challenging. Trying out a fire build, since arcane blast was nerfed. It no longer has a cast time reduction the more you stack it.’ So trying out a scorch fireblast spec.
I may have played against you this morning. Your mage is Sanna? I afkd at the end of game due to IRL. I'm guessing you won?

Na my mages name is Blacken. I’ve played against that mage before tho, he’s alright. What I like about his play style is he actually takes initiative on his teams. If their team isn’t going for flag, he will grab that shit. He has a great understanding of class.

I only ask because he too was Fire, and played like an XpOff twink. Very aggressive. Reminded me a lot of how 19s played in WOD. He was FCing and turtling in EFR, and went himself to Alliance base to kill our FC, who was turtling too. Then used the engi xtreme boots speed boost + slowfall from ramps and flew across map and capped. LOL. It had been a long time since I saw that trick.

I'll be playing on a 69 disc priest. I love fire mages too, and I have experience with them (and disc) at 39 and 49, so I may level a fire mage eventually as well. But everyone loves/needs more heals, so yep.

So didnt know this but the hellfire towers daily gives like 1247 honor along with the 3 marks at 60, pretty significant if you're looking for a couple pieces of PvP gear. I'm on a carebear server and they have people running around on lowbies changing the control so everyone can get the daily all day... pretty cool, actually.

edit- ALSO hurting for +hit gear... not delving too far in (like doing raids) but it's worse than I remember as far as gear.

I found this item alone helps quite a lot for fighting 69s.

The mats cost about 10g on my server. Sadly the +15 hit rating gloves enchant costs a lot for me but that's definitely in my plans.

However. According to the wiki. I had the page up a few days ago and ofc now I can't find it. But it said that for a +5 level difference hit cap is 20%. Every additional level difference adds an extra 7%. Meaning, for a level 60 to have hit cap vs 69s you'd have to have 55% (20% + (7% * 5)) hit rating lol... this is for spell hit. Mdps hit is prob better.

yeah spellhit's rough but supposedly that penalty's for pve only and pvp has a less steep one - i remember seeing something like that, but don't quote me on that :sela:

SO... if you're someone like me that values time over money, just noticed that the fugly whalebone flying mount provided with the epic northrend upgrade goes to every character on EVERY account attached to your Bnet. Did not know that.

Saying if you have multiple accounts, the boost and gametime will be for the specific account but all others attached get the mount as well. Makes sense (even though it doesnt) and if you're an altoholic that adds up a lot of gold "value" saved on purchasing flying mounts for each toon. Not sure when all that stuff is going account-wide, but for now it is a nice perk for casuals.

But still freeking expensive so dont do it! (or do, it's not really a lot compared to the time not invested)

edit- OH! and since prepatch you can train riding at level 20 now, and it works at that level too.

If it trained flying for me to, I’d be game. But it’s an ugly shit excuse of a mount

Lol yes. But for peeps like me that didnt spend time on classic TBC (or more than a few weeks on the first one) it helps. I'm not into investing days of /played on this venture, but I will throw a few bucks at it for fun. Spent more on less, tbh.

And for sure..... fugly as all hell. Who the hell is in charge of these things? smh.

edit- all said it's "wasting" $15 on the mounts if you already opted for the boost. The gametime is what it is.

I vaguely remember you but you barely played at all. Here is a SC of a wsg with you and me as the only twinks. The levelers on your side were pretty weak. Mages were difficult to play in 69 imo with how popular hunter/rogue twinks were. And they're still kinda screwed by anyone that uses faps. Good 3 minute flag returners and decent fc/dps

And here's a quick one. Alliance had 9 twinks vs 4 on horde

Oh yea, I know you well. You grief me constantly lol
Trying to be more active but the pre patch is super hype and trying to get all my twinks ready for wrath

I decided to quit TBC Classic/WoW last November and just found out that xp off/on is back for Wrath. Is it too early to tell if the 60-69 bracket is good and worth coming back to the game?

prepatch was nuts in AV. You had armies of DKs who were clueless on how to play. It was a farm fest.

Queues are longer now that everyone is leveling their 70s to 80. But I'm sure it'll come back around once the initial push to 80 dies down.

Well if it isn't my BFA pocket healer again. What made you give up on TBC 69s so early? Hard to predict activity now that 80 is the end game and the honor grinding before 80 will be mostly done 70-79. With xp and world queuing it probably won't be worse than what we had in tbc.

Many of the 69s moved on to other stuff from what I can tell. Some are sticking around to update their characters. 69 twinks are simply too overpowered now and not in a good way. High damage has things paced far too fast. Wrath gear scaling and overpowered (for 69) engineering made twinks too strong IMO. The breakneck pacing is clearly more favorable to certain classes/specs. With how OP they are, and with less 69 twinks playing, I can imagine a handful of twink players slaughtering games. I have plans to update my lock later on if activity is good.

I'm not a fan of 5 minute pvp trinkets while humans retain 2 minute racial. This affects every bracket 19 - 69 and I wish they didn't wait until cata to fix it. We also can't trinket off silence until cata, which is frustrating. I'm working on a 79 because the activity there will be high.

Now is the perfect time to gear a 69 if you want a twink that feels powerful. Whether the games are any good or a leveler griefing fest is not as clear.

Oh and DKs have made things feels dramatically different. They are OP in general but they really fuck up casters. Death grip is super annoying to deal with and makes flag carrying much more difficult.

Not too late. I play my 69 mage and 60 pally on a daily basis. Pops all throughout the day

I would disagree on about 2-3 of these points. The bracket has plenty of life and constantly see other 69s in games, and 67-68 levelers holding their own. Yes the bracket is fast paced but that is what makes it so great. I won’t lie and not admit my 69 mage is tearing people to shreds, but we still don’t have a giant Twink player base yet. Once that grows, 60-69 will be the most competitive bracket with nearly no room for error with such a fast paced Dmg and health, though I expect that to level out a bit when there are more twinks and less levelers. So many classes can counter others. Let me give example. I was arcane on my 69 mage and swapped to fire, now I can take down DKs, but hunters give me issues now. There is a large dynamic of class and talent selection combined with burst potential that anything can be lethal, and all will be needed to keep things balanced. Just need more 69s!

My concern is a few weeks from now when activity drops off a cliff as DF launches....even people who dont buy yhe xpac will still check out the new changes. Hope we can get some back, i didnt even focus on my 60s yet. :SadgeW:
