Expertise is awesome. The leather gloves are just really good stat wise, hard to beat but I'm open to alternatives.

Borderlands from sunwell are just far better in ever respect for pvp. Losing that much armor is just really not worth it. And expertise in pvp comes in handy 1 in a million times.

Also why hyper speed over hand mounted Pyro rocket? It’s unmitigated damage that cannot be mitigated without magic reduction or immune cds

pretty sure your best plans as arms is 2/6 and resilience stack since you can get to like 740 or 800 (less w/o 20 stat gems, ig) which is actually a significant amount

also, the setbonus from the crafted set is really powerful.

or you could just stack bv and go prot.

Not sure why you think expertise isn't useful? All classes have at minimum 5% dodge, many also have parry. Expertise functionally extends your hit table into those regions. The only thing better than expertise is hit capping, so once that's done yes, you want to stack expertise as a warrior.

Pyro rockets are good I'm still waiting to see which I like more, but when you are twinking and stacking so much damage, it's usually worth it to continue stacking damage because everything builds on itself. Pyro rockets are excellent little burst damage, I loved them, but I also found that staying on the steroid stacking train can really pay off.

I'm not sure about potential Sunwell runs so I stayed away from that gear. Switched to 6/8 Saronite now anyways.

Sorry I don't get what you mean by 2/6? Are you talking S4 gear or what exactly? I was using 4/8 of the crafted set, but yeah I bumped up to the 6 piece bonus. I've played prot in wrath, it was fun, but Bladestorm > all

Nice. This will be my prot war. It's all easy to acquire stuff and still 2940 AP unbuffed. Well easy to acquire minus the shield...that's a random boss in violet hold. Might take a while.

I'm a bit concerned that you don't have minor speed and only 2.5% hit. Also, not sure what patch you are on because I don't know if some of those gems are out right away. The good news is that you have enough sockets to probably hit cap, but you'd need to revise your gems. Talent wise it looks solid, I would only swap one point into Anger Management, probably from Deep Wounds. Should be pretty ruthless!

2 set vengeful/brutal & 6 set crafted for max resilience

and expertise is bad in pvp bc you cant dodge from behind or when stunned so

Yeah I'm not seeing the stats pan out with 2 piece brutal. You lose a lot of stam not to mention crit and AP. Yeah, expertise only works from the front, but opponents do typically try to face you. And unless you're mace spec imo the stun element doesn't matter much either. Expertise works when it matters most - when someone is facing you and not stunned is when they are the biggest threat. It could be argued that if you are creaming someone from behind or they are stunned, you're already winning. Sure crit or AP instead of expertise might help you win faster but so would an extra hit that landed before the stun.

I don't know, getting into all these hypotheticals is always muddy, but I'm pretty sure we can agree that enemies are not always stunned and you cannot always attack from behind, therefore expertise is helpful in all of those situations.

mace spec doesnt stun anymore
and overpower (your main ability as arms) ignores both dodge and parry so

also expertise isnt like useless (idt any1s saying that) just like realy baddddd since the value is just not there, you're far better off taking other more useful stats

Isnt being dodged or parried what makes overpower available? Or was that earlier than WotLK? Seem to recall seeing people get called noob for that at some point... not me, of course. Some other dude. For sure. Good looking guy, tho.

amongst others, yes but it can also be used through tfb

Oh damn forgot mace spec changes. Anyways, I think we'll just have to disagree on the value of expertise. I'd always rather have an attack land than be dodged and calling OP the main attack seems like a stretch considering MS and Execute. Expanding your hit table also increases crit , but it adds a lot of utility too - attacks like HS and Sunder don't get any benefit from damage stats and landing an MS is more important than having it do more damage.

lets just say, due to how overpower works even in pve expertise is considered a very bad stat for arms

like, its your prerogative to make a fucking assclown of a meme out of yourself of course, but expertise is probably the worst stat possible for arms warrior pvp

gemming expertise is probably even worse of an idea than using expertise items but :Okayge:

Ye I maxed out hit gems (without losing the meta requirements) and I'm at 4.76% hit. Close enough. Especially since most people I'm fighting probably won't be 79 anyways. Also changed to piercing howl. Never played a 79 prot but I don't think I'm supposed to leave defensive stance ever right. So shield bash + piercing howl would be my only slows.

YOURE SUPPOSED TO DANCE THAT SHIT!

Really? I got warbringer for charge and intercept in def stance + imp def stance. Am I supposed to charge, hamstring then back to def stance. Isn't charge or intercept + shield bash (silence + 6 sec daze) or piercing howl better? Shield bash and PH are both only 7 rage too. Dancing to battle I'll lose a lot of rage. Also have 3 stuns.
