Bracket extremely bursty right now?

well he is better skilled at coding for sure.

They didn't bring back the old school talents. In fact this is the first time we have talent "trees".

Also the 300iq surv hunters like me will play with a ranged weapon until 3 stacks then swap to axe and jump in for big dmg. This is the most skill based gameplay of any class apart from supacow's otherworldly genius restoration druid playstyle.
are you just trying to be like the Aldi brand Glancelot now or?

Trading wildfire bomb (and I guess serpent sting) to get terms of engagement isn't really going to change much. Tip of the spear is a 25%-75% damage increase on raptor strike. So all they have to do is kill command from range then harpoon in for the giga raptor strike.

Harpoon will also be a 20 sec cd (for when it fails to reset) instead of the current 30 sec cd.

For most players it wont matter, because hunter just kills them now... they won't care about it doing more damage. Taking away the DoTs is at least something. A pet can be CC'd ect. It will still be gross, I get it... but in DF occasionally a hunter will get to do what a warlock can do right now with 2500+ hits... its not that big of a change.

The biggest nerf to hunters in DF is that there *might* be an even more brain dead face roll class out there and they’ll have to choose whether or not to reroll

I hope you all are sweating

i for sure hope it gets less bursty, then my sonic the hedgehog playstyle would shine!

I mean in DF as stated before survival you have to press 4 buttons to do an average of 5k damage in 3 seconds... I doubt anything is gonna beat that faceroll wise.

Implying survival hunter players have the manual dexterity to press 4 individual buttons in succession is a pretty big assumption

would you rather fight one tence sized duck or ten duck sized tences?
One tence sized duck.

The duck sized tences will cast their hastened heals on the frontline ducks.

Pretty much this. Surv mobility will still be pretty damn good with Trailblazer and a free de-root every 20 seconds. But man, seeing these talent trees makes me realize why they got rid of them in the first place. You can either build a gimmicky "Ranged" surv hunter by picking up Predator and https://www.wowhead.com/spell=186289/aspect-of-the-eagle, or you can just lean into the big beefy https://www.wowhead.com/spell=260285/tip-of-the-spear and unlimited harpoon spam combo. Maybe we shouldn't have asked them to bring back old school talent trees...

Or maybe blizzard should learn how to design a cohesive leveling experience instead of making these absolute weird talent picks that are non-sensical. I don't blame the concept, i blame the team that can't work on top of the concept.

On a serious note I actually like higher damage metas, nothing worse then when healers are the strongest specs and we all just sit in mid trying to kill one another.

Right? People don't believe me when I tell them hunters are needed

there are higher damage metas, and then there are stupid metas

the two overlap

unfortunately, we are in that overlap right now.

The worst meta is when healers are too powerful and there is no S tier that can kill them. Yeah it sucks, but if class A cant just swoop in double stun (or just have the raw dps) some uberpriest and wrap the fight up, it's unfun, because the lesser classes can't do it... the games never end and we end up with something like Resto shaman topping the charts in damage and heals as a baseline... it's trash.

I've been thinking about this topic, especially looking forward Dragonflight and I think a possible solution to this problem is that every class in the bracket get +2000 health pool. That would mean we are not getting one shotted by random hunters or locks, and that all the utility abilities and skills that we are getting would be more useful. It will require to understand the mechanics of arena/BG and how to use the ccs, cds and drs to get kills.

I say this especially after watching the lvl 39 twink tournament which was held like a week ago. I found it quite interesting and a more balanced bracket than the actual lvl 20 - 29 bracket. As a proof of it none of the team's composition in the finals included hunters nor locks for one shot kills (although some other team comps included hunters). And I feel part of it is because of the health pool at this lvl.

people also need to pay more attention to effective health.

stamina is not as bad as people think, 1 stamina provides more effective health than 1 vers.

don't complain about getting bursted down if you have like literally 0 stamina enchant or gem.

The only time games are bad is when the enemy team has 7 hunters and 5 healers or something like that. Sounds like you all need better gear and proper specs to compete.

It kind of is. It really only helps in the absence of too much S tier or in something with limited opponents like arena. When you take a chaos bolt in the face and get raptor striked in a random BG with tons of people flying around... does it matter that you took all +2+2 stam gems... no.

There are a few classes like fury warrior that is just a HP regen machine versus non S=tier where stacking HP helps... but on the other normal melee dps like enhance/WW/Ret does it really matter? No... your game play is not gonna be overly effected by having 500 more hp... but your damage just goes down.
