SMF vs Titans grip

Can someone with more knowledge about this grant some advice?
I've heard/read Epic/Blue Cudgel + Truncheon for SMF is BiS(?) but is it still worth it to use Green cudgel and truncheon? Was dumb enough to half way gear my warrior until I realized cudgel is oneshot try & ofc it didnt proc, so im stuck with a Green one, hence why Im running 2x 2h Hellscreams axes.

Should I still run Green cudgel + truncheon or farm Bladefist to replace green cudgel?

Mirrorbender made this sheet some time ago, it shows many combinations. The ones you need are MH Ability, OH Ability and Composite as well as the extra stats like stamina, seconadries etc. The numbers round up.
Don't underestimate 2Hs as well - the added stamina and str from crow wings is huge. I wouldn't use a green cudgel, rather go for crow wings or hellscream axes.

That being said the difference between epic cudgel+truncheon and 2x hellscream 1H is negligible in terms of dmg. The things you should consider are the haste proc and the less stamina.
 
The spreadsheet doesn't really work for comparing SMF to 2x2H. Generally, SMF is going to be a little better for damage, 2H obviously give you a big chunk more stamina.

In the strength ranges we are dealing with at 20, the 12% extra damage from SMF is worth about an extra 25-30 AP

Generally I'd recommend Blackout Truncheon(MH) + Claw of the Watcher for SMF if you missed on a cudgel upgrade.
 
I run a green Cudgel MH and Truncheon OH in my fury set and it does better than Titans Grip with a Rivendare/Crowwing combo. If I had dual hellscream 1handers, I'd run those.

I found that SMF with a haste build is better than SMF with a crit build, and Titans with a crit build is better than Titans with a haste build. And SMF with a haste build is better than either Titans option, even with a green cudgel.

In general, I wouldnt lose too much sleep over the less stam as Ignore Pain (especially with dual crusader) covers your survivability remarkably well.

It's also worth noting that if you're getting really sweaty, SMF allows you to weapon swap vibroblade/whatever in your MH without sacrificing your extra damage/native move speed.

Also also... SMF is just way fucking cooler than titans grip, which is lame and stupid.
 
Thanks for the replies, appreciated. Ended up with truncheon and claw for SMF, a lot more fun than titans grip imo (also SMF speed incr = sonic). Also a little side note, is it worth it to run 2/2 gems instead of full 3 str stacking?

Titans Grip with Runeblade is faster than SMF, if you wanna go fast, plus it stacks with the other boot enchants.

Gems are down to preference, its pretty obvious what the tradeoffs are. I personally like to throw 2str/2haste gems in my fury specific gear.
 
Titans grip with runeblade *might * be faster than SMF, assuming you have no other speed tert stats.

once you add in any additional speed terts on gear, SMF provides a flat rate % speed which is godlike once you start getting up there on Diminishing returns for speed.
 
Does the discovery of drops such as Destiny, Singing Crystal Axe and Hand of Edward the Odd affect the choice between SMF and Titans Grip and does it affect which weapons are BIS for each talent? Will I only know if I farm one or a pair of each and test them? :slight_smile:

Double Destiny is far and away BiS and really kills the discussion vs SMF, sadly

This ^ is beyond contestation, however; if one does not wish to grind away a season or 2 in the BRM Hall, & would rather take a few days to gear up, or even a few re-rolls to garner a blue or purple https://www.wowhead.com/item=156998/cudgel-of-naralex?ilvl=24 , then you've got to give SMF an acceptable nod.

Those who take the time ( or spend the G's ) to DW 2 https://www.wowhead.com/item=647/destiny , well... looks like Plate DPS has joined Hunters in WTF Tier.
