[Level 20][Opinion] All Specs Mastery Rundown

and it's not easy because the damage is already bad at 20 and you are more relegated to leveler/non-gem-f2p clean up. It's not the same as Frost where you can get away with a big hit build.

Clearly no idea how to play a DK in this bracket :) Unholy is one of the few melee specs actually able to down any healers in 1v1 in seconds (not talking about RNG SD warriors). Forcing any healer to hardcast his heals in order to stay alive is how u should play one, peeling of ur healers and making sure ur enemies los their healers with slows and grips. Not cleaning up levelers or f2p... The damage is simply unhealable if played proper.

I see...ill try to go for 30-35% haste and 65% mastery as you say, i was just trtying to go full mastery since all my damage is shadow damage, and i just wanted to toy around with it and see if its worth or no hovaing that much mastery since its 100% of my dmg , thanks anyways for the respond, and one question , is [Thunderlord Longspear] good ? it has 13 mastery + it proced purple on my dk so its 26ilvl 7 str 10stam 4.9dmg per sec. or should i just use Crow Wing for those 3 extra sockets?

Go for crow wing, get TBC 3x socket legs aswel as 3x socket helm. Rest can either be aurora (then you need to run elekk tusk) or feverflare.

Feverflare has proven to be the best overall setup damage/survivability wise, aurora is also very nice and allows for relative "bigger" Death Strikes but does lower dps without trinket up.
This bracket is so bursty and unfortunately infested with huntards, having more stam on feverflare or playing aurora with tusk doesn't really matter that much at all, it comes down to personal preference.

You can follow my guide on the TwinkDB for a feverflare setup!

Worth noting since you may play exclusively ally - Viking Helm is particularly good on UH. You can add it to your healer one shot repertoire. You set up 4 wound Apoc, helm them, pop 6 reanimations, and apoc when the first zombie hits. It's cheesy, but it also drops people with very little interaction outside of pvp trinket.

Tauren UH can 100% kill healers 1v1 without issue. That's definitely the way to play it, agreed.

*edit* ... wooosaaahh.

Unholy is not 1v1ing full twinked out disco priest or full Hpals... unless they are trash... post some clips or it's bullshit. And I mean an actual 1v1 not you swooping in on a half dead healer that has no CDs left and popping Apoc. You can't.

* Rivendare is still better than a mastery weapon... and its still better than Crowwing (I don't like to admit it)... but the double bonus is sill just better than 3 gem slots or any mastery bonus from something like Thunderlord.

The old "you have no idea how to play" deal is a long dead argument. Full twink (not the leveler trash that you might kill) Healers heal for X and bad melee does Y damage. Coming up with crazy 1v1 duel situations that do not really ever exist in an actual battleground also is just self defeating... "I'm going to have all my cooldowns and then stun them 6 times and always have Apocalypse up - AND also the healer wont have any of there panic cool-downs on to counter me!"... it's crazy talk (and I get that appeals to a lot of forum goers, that does not make it correct). It's funny as fuck so keep it up, but it's just nonsense.

Unholy does not do enough... you are not doing 1000s you are doing 100s. Is it good... yeah... is it going to just down full twink disco priests or Hpals because you imagine you are good?... fuck no.

Unholy has terrible sustained damage output. I didn't see anyone say anything differently than that.

I think your view is somewhat pessimistic - In your situations that must "really exist", apoc is always down and stuns never land and the healer always has every cooldown? That's the inverse of your sarcastic interpretation of the other viewpoint, right?

Use your abilities intelligently and when they will matter. Don't waste them when they don't. Use all the tools available to you. Don't expect to win as a single player vs. a premade. All sensible pieces of advice that... most people have picked up on over the years.

That was not his claim... his claim was simply "I can 1v1 any healer as Mastery based Unholy <I assumed he meant a fully decked out disco priest or Hpal and not a resto druid with no gem slots>". There was no confusion in the statement. I just corrected him.

Maybe you could do with a verse/stam build where you lasted longer with self healing trinkets or some other method to just not "die" after your shield goes down... "maybe"... Feverflare is not gonna get it done. Feverflare is a solid open BG build that lets you cut down levelers and keep your runes up so you don't have to really "stop" and white hit... then you meet a real twink... and reset that process at a fresh graveyard.

Yes i was following your guide on TwinkDB and got some items that you said, but still wanted to try something new on my own if its viable or no, thats why i was going full mastery , im trying to get full Savant gear but idk if ill ever get it , + mastery polearm + Tusk + ZugDugs trinket, just wanted to see if i max my mastery to lets say 100% basic without trinket procs or without Using the Tusk if i can do some nice dmg but i guess we never know :D but ye, ill try get 3socketed legs, and Leech Trinket from Vault Of Wardens and see how it goes, btw do you have any build for dueling? or still the same as you have in TwinkDB? :)

Lemme get these Solo Shuffle videos edited and I will. Kaxle and DJ play UH against some STELLAR healers and just fucking body people on the regular. Its disgusting. DK legit ended up being the sleeper class of this xpac and once people figured it out, it started dominating.

why do you assume that everyone is as bad at dk as you are?

I mean, I will agree with the general sentiment that Unholy is a fairly weak battleground spec. I think Frost is likely much better there, since you can really make Frost Fever hurt.

But Unholy is one of the few (non-shameful) specs that can force kills on healers by itself.

You claimed that you are relegated towards leveler / f2p cleanup, I claim and stand by the fact that any proper unholy dk (not "me" you donkey) who knows when to press what buttons can indeed down any properly geared healer. Cba the spec nor the race of the healer.
Seems as my point has been proven when reading the messages above.
I will not waste anymore time on a clown like you, I'll be downing healers while you are spamming FF on an FDK to top charts :)

Oh yeah for sure! I have it on my ally dk :p I just don't like the knockback on myself so I keep from using it hehe.

I don't like to spawn that much zombies on a single target since it soaks alot of runes and a proper player will simply outrun / kill them. I much rather spawn a zombie and then grip someone los into the stun into apoc!

Honestly bro, savant isn't worth going for. I love playing on 50% haste but it's more a meme than an actual build :D

Look ma, I made it!
I notice your DK is running with Sul'Thraze, mind telling me if the proc scales with Mastery? I tried back in prepatch or around SL launch can't remember correctly and it did not then. Haven't bothered getting and testing it now

Oh, no for sure. I don't suggest spamming zombies like that all the time.

Only in the instance where you have someone set up in a 9 second disorient where you get to apoc on them after the first zombie hit.
It's very situational, of course. Can't have a lot of people hanging around while you're doing it. But it's a forced healer kill - I think the payoff can be worth the odd and sometimes awkward setup.

It'd require a very lucky niche setup in a bg I guess but the theory behind this sounds lovely! I'll definitely give this a try sometimes, you been able to get it off?
I also assume that you obviously pop Acop on the first explosion but do you also chain the next 5 or do you simply spawn 6 in hope that at least one hits? Guessing you are talking about BGs and not openworld duels / arenas (seems even more impossible in an arena unless you can cc the other player aswel)

Yes, I've been able to get it off. It is most commonly disrupted by a pvp trinket (3 minute helm cd, 2 minute trinket) since DK lacks a good way of forcing trinket outside of the helm. I suppose you could try to force a reanimation stun trinket first... but at that point we're descending into the realm of fantasy, even in a 2's healer/dps arena.

You spawn 6 because they will all hit if undisturbed. The first 3 second stun, the second 1.5 second stun ... it allows all 6 to hit during stuns.

It's best in duels, assuming the other person doesn't run a trinket. In arenas, it's possible to pull off in 3's. Against coordinated players, they're just going to kill the zombies - absolutely. Also, if you are allowed to use viking helm in wargames... then you should probably just use it normally. It's already busted beyond belief - no need for wonky one shot setups.

Honestly, in 2's skirms where you cross kill is the most common use I've gotten out of this combo. This happens quite often, frankly. You're just gambling whether they ran a trinket or not - or maybe you play with a partner who can force a trinket earlier.

Was just thinking about it, seems like an open world duel is the ideal setting to pull this off.
It's as you say, coordinated players (or ppl with eyes hahaha) will indeed kill the zombies. Honestly I have slept on that helm for so so long. I got it first thing when I went horde on my DK and I stopped using it almost as soon as I got it since I hate to be stunned myself :s Especially in bgs / arenas, can try to use it more in duels or 1v settings in pugs

I see, well thanks for info, ill try to balance it a bit...this is my DK now got any tips what should i upgrade? https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/argent-dawn/illmætik

I would swap out the few aurora & harm pieces you have, no point in having 4% versa tbh; might aswel get some more haste & or mastery.(if you're looking at my dk, I only have the vers in my feverflare build because of my GF neck & leech boots that I cba swapping nor getting gametime for)
Try to get socket rings (there's a haste mast ring that can proc a socket from horde bfa zones that i'm aware of). Swap out the boe legs for the 3x socket ones. I only recommend running boe legs if you have adaptable ones and are running a versa heavy build (even then I kinda lean more towards the 3x socket ones).

Kinda derailing this thread here so sent me a msg if you have more questions!
