59 twink? is it even possible?

At this point, only in preparation for gearing up in the next expansion to do world PvP i.e. just level a 59, don't even worry about gearing it, and see what Dragonflight brings.

what is “worth it” varies by each person. spending months farming/ grinding for gear to play 30 bgs isnt worth it for me. the 40 renown isn’t anything special since all that takes is 500g and shadowlands.
might be worth it if you like being top damage in dungeons with a pve twink.
if you want to pvp for more than one level build a 56 with AH greens.

if its equal to mythic level gear at 59 it would probably be 158. regular dungeons drop 138. the timewalking is heroic level and its 146 which is the same as BoAs at 59. i say 158 because thats what epic upgrades are from sl elites. ill try to get into a raid and see.

Just tried it (at your prompting) and there is no expected queue time while queued.
More likely that 59s will be a thing. Endgame minus one always relies on the latest expansion's gear, while endgame minus 11 (in this case, 59s in Dragonflight) get to leverage the higher stats of gear from the latest expansion. 49s in Shadowlands were absolutely insane before rep gear got (much needed) requirements placed on them.
