Hello, you fantastic community.

Looks like I'm late to the thread, but here's my 2c.

Prot Pally is the strongest PvE twink & one in base ilvl25 gear can solo dungeons, let alone one with a complete kit & selection of trinkets; which can go into zones with mobs 20 levels higher than you & whup ass. This spec alone is worth having for your twink.

That being said, Ret is sluggish & incomplete at 20. While strong, you'll feel it's incompleteness at times. I don't play Holy so I won't speak on it, but It's known to be very powerful.

Warrior is far more complete overall. Prot is devastating once geared, & if you can reliably make the killing blow on mob packs, you'll have as many https://www.wowhead.com/spell=34428/victory-rush resets as foes.

Arms feels more complete than Ret, but suffers it's sluggishness; while Fury is a whirling dervish of joyful mayhem, made even more swift with https://www.wowhead.com/spell=81099/single-minded-fury .

Druid's versatility can be a snag, IMO. Having to gear the toon 3-4 times over to complete it just bogs you down from jumpin in & having a ball.

Yes... everyone HATES hunters... but they're so much fun & totally OP, so... play one if you like.

Locks are frightening at 20, particularly Destro. If https://www.wowhead.com/spell=116858/chaos-bolt isn't enough, a https://www.wowhead.com/spell=6353/soul-fire crit = deletion.
Aff-lock can dot up a whole battlefield & top the damage charts.
I don't muck about with Demo, but some people love spawning a personal army of demons.

As you begin to settle in to our little community, the depth of our experience will surely begin to reveal it's self.

but grinding 300 enchanting on a f2p for crusader is... well self explanatory

Done it 3 times so far and the lvling is actually pretty easy I have a guide on how to get the amts for it and just blitz through it. Its farming the crusader that is my bane.
Looks like grinding is back on the menu, bois.
Yes have fun my dude, a good way to just relax tbh. Just put on some music or something and do some farming.

Comparing the DH to the Ret Pally with runeblade, whats your opinion on the totals PvE output for a DH? (% of Ret as baseline)

For PvE - Don't put too much stock into the numbers below. They're really rough estimates. I'm also ignoring Havoc, because it doesn't have enough sustain to solo much.

Single Target:
If Ret is 100% damage, Veng DH is 60% damage
If Prot is 100% damage, Veng DH is 90% damage

AoE (3 targets):
If Ret is 100% damage, Veng DH is 150% damage
If Prot is 100% damage, Veng DH is 70% damage

From a numbers perspective, paladin wins out. Prot can also pull more mobs than Veng. With DH things can get shaky at 5+ mobs depending on what you're fighting. Paladin can handle more. You can also get away with more aggressive gems on paladin if you choose to. I.E. No MS/Stam gems

Holy paladin is amazing and everyone will love you for playing as a healer (since no one seems to want to). The bracket needs more dedicated healers, and much of the ideal hpally kit imo can be obtained through dungeons.

If you decide to roll one, let me know if have any questions about it.

Hey guys,

Happy Friday!

I've been playing my Ret Paladin casually this week: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/bleeding-hollow/erasunix

Wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on getting started on gearing? Is it better to switch back and forth from prot and ret on dungeon trash / bosses? Slave pens 3 pulls were challenging on ret, but not impossible (unless you get an unfortunate stun / interrupt spam).

Anyone have any suggestions on what to farm first?

Buy ilvl 28 mop gear then farm runeblade then tbc dungs

Try Warlock, without a doubt the coolest and badass classes out there. Affliction feels really good and fun, spreading all kinds of aids and dot damage. But Destro just throws big numbers and epic bust damage. Demo sucks and I cant play it so there's that.

I haven't played retail since Cata, so I've been enjoying lvl 20 content quite a lot.
There is tonnes of stuff to do in every expansions (bar Cataclysm) and even some things that would otherwise not be possible, but are.
Also the fact that you will be using gear and enchants from various expansions is pretty nice as it ties all of WoW nicely together.
Hope you enjoy twinking.
Also here is a little tip for getting 300 enchanting for crusader as a ret pally myself. You can use the Enchanting building in your Garrison to disenchant any item from WoD and below (you do NOT need to have enchanting to do this). You only need 2 versions of dusts and essences to level to 300;
The 1st basic ones which you can buy from enchanting trainers on a cooldown and from low level profession gear (Tailoring is the easiest to do for this).
And the highest level of classic essences which you will get from disenchanting any type of green gear from classic at level 20 (The ones from battleground crates also count).
Also use this guide .

Not really, no. Prot is pretty invincible and not that much slower to bother, especially if you die by accident as ret.

Also stressing the panda vendor greens in the above post, SO much easier to gear (but less enjoyment at quest upgrades cuz they become meaningless beyond trinkets, mostly). But lots of panda treasures on the way to the vendor, more than enough to pay for anything you want to buy so price isnt even a thing for f2play. Just run there and buy better gear.

Plus it also sells mastery gear, if you want that. (no sockets tho, just placeholders for easier farming)

edit- ALSO... easy trinket upgrade, https://www.wowhead.com/item=113408/grekas-dentures is huge compared to your starting zone trinket, and not far from your WoD garrison. You have to do some jumping at the northmost gate to get inside the complex as f2play without getting a ride in i believe, or quest your way until the barrier drops. I'm too lazy so I always just hop the gate. If you cant get in, just ask and I'm sure someone will show you if I'm not around to do so. But literally just go pick it up once in. Good luck!
