Solo Shuffle for 20s

Chops

Soccer Dad
We've talked about this a bit in various Discords but it occurred to me that it might not be common knowledge. And it should be!

20s can participate in Solo Shuffle! Its honestly one of the best things Blizz has introduced in ages. It's just tons of fun and its an insane honor gain for 20s.

You can't actually que for it like you can at end game, where the intention is you solo que, it puts you in groups with other solo quers and you play. You can, however, wargame it. Here's a brief how-to.

1. Download the WGHelper add-on. Im not sure this is 100% necessary but it sure does make it easier.
2. Get yourself and 5 buddies. Gotta be 4 DPS and 2 Healers.
3. Break into 2 groups. 1 Healer and 2 DPS in each group.
4. One party leader opens WGHelper (type '/wg') and then selects the leader of the other party from their BNet list. Click 'update' in the add-on screen.
5. Select "solo shuffle" from the first drop down and *this is vital* select a map from the second drop down. It will not work on random.
6. Send wargame!

You'll then play 6 rapid-fire arena matches where the game shuffles your groups around between the 6 of you. You'll play all 3 possible DPS combinations with each healer. Your initial groups dont matter (though thats often what your first game comps will be). Worth noting, the matches end at first death. So no comeback potential. First kill wins the game.

There are some odd quirks with the system. Most notably, arena frames can be super goofy and not load properly (like, theyll mix up spec logos and youll see an Affliction Warrior), can sometimes be non-interactive, etc. Marks tend to linger. Or not. No real idea why or how. Warlock healthstones are typically one use per 6 matches... though I've gotten lucky and occasionally gotten 2 or 3. Oddball stuff.

I'd recommend playing with 6 different classes or at the very least, different specs if the classes have to be doubled up. Most of the fun comes from fighting with and against a different comp every time. Also, all 6 of you should stay in the same voice channel. Way more fun that way.

You get 100 honor per win. Each round of 6 games takes us about 12-13 minutes. So if you do average and win 3/6 you're looking at 1500 an hour. If you're DJ or Bop, its more like 2500. I have no idea how that stacks up with end game but for 20s, thats pretty damn good.

Anywho, go forth and enjoy the best thing Blizz has done for PvP since WSG.

I can't emphasize this enough. As a mediocre player who prefers battlegrounds over arenas, solo shuffle made for some of the most fun I've had in WoW PvP this expansion. Especially because the more that the six people collaborate to make games fun for everyone, the more it actually works. I wasn't really interested in playing anything besides a shammy, and now I want one of every class.

I streamed some of these shuffles last night (dont follow me I'm only using it cause I'm in covid quarantine)

if anyone is curious as to how they went for some TERRIBLE Priest/Rogue/(not terrible) Warrior PoV

But its mostly a bunch of grown men screaming that they're gunna die

According to the WGHelper add-on, not only we can join removed battlegrounds (Classic Deepwing Gorge and Classic Ashran*) and Epic BGs, but also the unreleased arena coming on patch 9.2.5 (Empyrean Domain).

I think those queueing have to all have SL on their account in order to get into the new arenas.
